Tremendous work by Draxler on the left.
The Slovakian defence just stood and watched Gomez put that in. |

We don't have any player who can do what draxler did to set up that goal.

Or are Germany forcing them to look like that whereas England were dull, predictable, pedestrian and easy to play against?

Exactly. The gap is embarrassing. And people think England might be better in two years? We said that two years ago.

Though questions have to be asked why we're lagging behind. We have for far too long now.
2-0 to Germany - Gomez. ![]() Anyone who uses the fact one team scores against an opponent early on, when another team didn't, and uses that argument to try and claim something clearly doesn't understand football at all. |

Germans already with one foot in the last eight. It's been the concise and proficient performance we'd expect from them. Now, will they be ruthless and pummel their opponents?

Really nice skill from Draxler with end product. Something Sterling can learn from.

I've had a cheeky bet on this staying 2-0. |

And the memories of the awful football yesterday continue to fade. Slovakia look as if they wish they hadn't qualified for this match. Only real question is will Germany cruise from here or go out to make a real statement?

So your only interest is to have yet another moan about England, this time because they are not as good as Germany. I despair at some people on here.

Had to be said the matches have been far better today than yesterday... both aided by the early goals? |

They haven't looked ruthless all tournament so far. That halfarsed Ozil penalty summed them up. I'd fancy Italy to beat them in the quarters.

Decent move by Slovakia. They may as well have a bit of a go.

they haven't needed to be ruthless at any point so far... they really don't need to do anything in this 2nd half apart from play it sensible and see the match out but seeing as it's germany it wouldn't surprise me one bit of they bang in a 3rd, 4th & 5th...

Free kick in a good position. How will Slovakia mess this up
A. Far too wide B. Crash into wall C. Worthless pass |
