How do you finish a team off?.

Just watch the Germans, that's how.
Were gonna finish off a team any day now, Roy said so.

Draxler deserves that - he's been very good today.

Well, looks like I'm getting another £3 free bet. Thanks Germany!

Nothing at all wrong with that tackle from Hummels, terrible decision from the ref.

This does highlight what a poor result the 0-0 was when England played Slovakia, they are a very average side and as shown today not even great defensively so it is slightly worrying that England couldn't score against them in 90 minutes.

What did Iain Dowie say just then? I think he was trying to say "they've been slick", but it sounded like, well, "shit".

This is how we should have played. Throw men foward. Might open yourself up to some attacking threats but the more attacking team with more quality would eventually win. Also did the commentator just swear a few mins ago without meaning for it to go on air?

That was like a pleasant Sunday afternoon stroll in the park for the Germans.

The early goal deflated their opponents and from that moment on it was just a question of how many goals they would get.

Ominous.

Germans did what they needed to, frankly at times it looked like a training match they were so relaxed.

After that performance, Germany are now my favourites to win the competition, they looked very good.

Not at all wanting to downplay Germany's imperious performance but perhaps the focus should be on how likely they are to replicate it against Italy or Spain in the quarter finals.

If you assume that they and Poland played out a convenient draw, you have to say that they're yet to be tested by a quality side.

Great performance from Germany but very disappointed in Slovakia who just didn't turn up. At their best they are at the very least physical and difficult to beat, but it was clear they were overawed by the occasion and the early goal finished them off.

Agree. Germany's stroll today has been pretty close to how Germany have played all tournament. No pace up top, slow tempo and well just strolling. They couldn't beat Poland, a 1-0 win against N.Ire and less than convincing 2-0 against Ukraine. They're definitely a good side but theyve not shown any performances better than todays, so lets see what they've really got when they face some quality. I was hoping Slovakia would hold out for longer today to see if Germany could up the tempo if needed, unfortunately that 7th min shot sneaking in by the post ended this match. Slovakias only game plan was shot and they were rubbish, even by their average standards

A serious question mark over the England - Wales group now? Wales laboured to an ugly 1-0 win over NI yesterday and needed an own goal to do it and now Slovakia taken apart by the Germans.
