Only one side looks like scoring.
Think that O'Neill is more into damage control now.

It was mentioned in the first half that France were making it easy for the Irish defence by attacking too centrally - and Coman gave the French the width on the right that has stretched them.

Ireland have not regrouped after conceding the equaliser.

Don't want to speak too premature as Iceland may beat us but think quarters is the best we can hope for don't fancy our chances against this lot especially with our crap defence
Can see Smalling being red carded if we get through, he cant help but wrestle the opposition when they get the better of him

Gignac should have wrapped things up there.

Gignac can't complain about the quality of the chances he's been presented with.

Gignac is making sure the manager doesn't pick him for the next game.

Just to get back onto the Pogba debate ... I really rate the guy .

He's got everything a modern midfielder needs with the added hint of genius and invention .
I've always rated him. There's not a team in the world that he wouldn't improve. Only real flaw I can see is a tendency to ball-watch when defending. And he's still young, so he'll knock that off.

Unless you are Irish or English I suppose I think it's better for the largely defensive tournament that a flair side gets to the latter stages

Kitchen sink time Ireland. Losing 3-1 doesn't matter. Take a risk.

Irelands strategy from the first minute appears to have been to run into the box and then hit the deck.

Exactly right ... Imagine Italy , Wales plus the two Irelands plus a few other average teams making up the last 8

Hoolahan's been awful - all he does is give it away.
