God Andy Townsend is dire. Makes Savage look balanced.

Still expect the French to win, but its good the Irish are making a game of it...
This could even be a high scoring game, I reckon the Irish have another goal in them - they look dangerous going forward

Drinks break after fifteen minutes. Get a grip.

Because he's an idiot?
Sorry, Townsend may not be the best commentator, but he was right.

You don't make challenges like that in the penalty area. If you do then like today you can pay the price for it.

Doesn't feel like it's been 20 minutes. That Portugal match surely lasted for a day though.

Ireland will be best served by continuing to take a positive approach - just sitting back and inviting waves of French pressure in testing conditions would just be asking for trouble.

Early signs too that this could be a bit of a niggly game, which would suit the Irish right down to the ground.

Is pogba overrated he is a decent player but not worth the numbers that get spoken about in transfer fees

Good chance for Ireland again. French defence looks so weak at times.

Think you're underestimating how quickly dehydration can happen in that heat but it's not a drinks break imo, it was players taking advantage of the break in the game.

That was a good save.

Perfect placement by Pogba, may have lacked a touch of pace.

Looking back at the foul on Long, it was very similar to the way Vardy wins penalties, forced Pogba to make the foul.

Clear booking.

Evidently a physical approach is part of the Irish gameplan but they must be careful not to overdo it.

The French have found no flow to their play at all so far.

Ireland nearly scored a second one a couple of minutes ago....they look pretty dangerous themselves (already 3 shots on target)

Too many silly challenges in the game.

I know the French are in front of their home supporters, but they should calm it down a tad.

Don't want players sent off for silly fouls, it would ruin the game.

Shocking dive for the penalty.
I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that . ..it's karma for the Henry handball .

Shane Long was actually falling / dropping BEFORE Pogba made any contact .

That was never a yellow card . Luckily France have at least one good replacement for him if they get through ..
