I've thought Barkley too. Just in the hope he turns the clock back a couple of seasons when he was walking past players for fun. He can hit the ball through the eye of a needle on occasion also.
Not even sure why Barkley was taken? No intention to use him so what was the point?

Really not that impressed with Dier either. His average at best.

Once again a terrible set piece ball.

Pedestrian play is our hallmark.

It's Iceland. If this was a qualifier, England would win by 3 or 4, but as soon as the tournament starts, they crumble.

Also, why are we playing different to how we were playing the friendlies and the qualifiers ? why change everything that got you to the tournament in the first place ?

It's like as soon as any tournament starts, everything changes. The style of football changes, the formation changes, the players roles change and the team selection changes. Why not just stick to the settled side that got us here in the first place ?
Panic I think. The media hype them up, dismiss the opposition, and put pressure on them and they don't usually handle it well if they then have a harder task than envisaged by their media (and some fans). They can still win this. Both teams should tire and there will be a lot of space.

Time to take Sturridge off. I'm not a fan. He has good days but on his bad days he just loses the ball a lot and delays and is occasionally selfish.

Not sure why Kane is back on free kicks. Rooney has been good at that since he started taking them so why go back?

Kane has been by a million miles the most the disappointing player this tournament based on the season he has just had.

ITV continuing their most bias of coverage - every England goal scored is great work (even when it is the softest pens ever) and every goal conceded is a mistake by them. Not exactly giving Iceland much (any) credit are they??
The first Iceland goal was a brilliant set piece : you could tell they had worked on it in training

Just desperate football now, no plan, just launch it up.

Iceland will get a third at this rate.

England have a mere 40 mins to score a goal. Virtually impossible at this stage.

But people were saying before the tournament that this young and fresh England team would go into the tournament unburdened by the weight of expectation as they hadn't experienced it yet!

We haven't created all that many chances in all of the games so far, we just did very well with the two late ones against Wales.

Testing the opposition keeper is not what we are good at.

I can't help but feel Spurs' end of season collapse has hurt both his and Delle Alli's confidence.

For such young players, England's forward's are just so immobile, it must be Roy's infulence

If they happen to win, everything will be forgotten and we'll celebrate. But remember, this is woeful.
