True but it should be possible to find 11 players capable to play at this level from the premier league.
*and play them, in their best postitions - if you have two very good players for one position, then pick one, and don't pick the other and play him out of position. |

To be honest, i couldn't give two ***** about Wales, i really couldn't. I'm English, not Welsh. It's like me supporting Arsenal in the Champions League when Chelsea go out, it's just never going to happen.
Commiserations to you as you must have been as hacked as those in the studio ( and listening to them is quite funny when this is 'normal service resumed' from England) ...... you have not had a lot to celebrate over the past 50 years. |

Crouch said it was due to the pressure, but there was no pressure against Slovakia and England were also awful and clueless offensively in that match. It's surely more to do with the game plan than the pressure.

Perhaps we should Brexit the World Cup and Euros and just have our own little competition against the Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, Sark, Gibraltar....
we might get the semis ! ![]() ![]() ![]() Post of the thread. |

Interesting point made on RTE there; Leicester City, Iceland, Atletico Madrid - no stars, but great TEAMS.

I wish they would f**k off with this "We lost to ICELAND".
That is the exact arrogance that sets us up for defeats like this. Iceland deserve to be there. Leicester City proved what you can do with a well setup team of players who work together and know their roles. We had none of that. Iceland played well don't get me wrong but Hodgson and the players should remember this for the rest of their lives. Total humiliation that will make them a farce in the international level for years to come. |

Looking at those names, I refuse to believe there is a single England fan who still stands by that stupid mantra of "he must be English".
He is going to be out of a job by October |

Roy has resigned. Didn't waste any time did he. Wonder if he's been thinking of going before this game. Looks like he's reading a statement.

Iceland looked like the fitter side and more importantly, played as a team. You could see that one on one, the English players were technically a lot better - but that's was it.
It's not that England were playing badly - they just came up against a team who could somehow manage a strong defence as soon as they got the ball near the goal, and England failed to get around that. That's a tough thing for any team to come up against. |

One can only hope all those that proclaim Whilshire as the savour of the England side will pipe down somewhat after this tournament.
