Watching this now. The on-screen partnership is lacking something so far. Dan's a bit wooden.

Dan's not atrocious, but his voice is quite monotone, if that's the word I'm looking for. Them hosting today is purely for the headlines, Dan presenting this is just the same as getting someone off here to present.

Dan is really showing how adept Rylan has become at hosting.
Rylan is an absolute natural, Dan isn't.
Dan could get there, but it'll take work. His biggest hurdle will be getting people to agree to keep letting him try.
He just seems very nervous, as most of us would be I suspect.
The pressure of this being his big shot might be weighing on him.

What qualifications does Dan Neal have to host a tv show?

Or Rylan, for that matter. Talk about the blind leading the blind.

Indeed. But at least Rylan, (I'm no fan) can engage with the camera, actually a tad too much but Dan is just bl*8dy awful.

So far they've awkwardly bumbled through an interview concerning the US shootings
Introduced a UK marksman as a serial killer
Fluffed a live interview to LA
Dan is on edge, staring awkwardly at the autocue with a glazed look
Dan missed his cue, prompting Rylan to belittle him

The whole thing is PAINFUL and amateurish, well done lads!

Imo Rylan is doing well, but Dan might as well not be there...all he is doing is blinking.

So true. For God's sake..it's all pathetic. There are people who have studied journalism and have a degree, at least give them a shot.

I don't want to see an ex copper, who is married to an ex reality show bloke, get a slot on a tv programme because of his contacts. Its just so wrong More so, because he is utter rubbish.

BIB - That was the worst part. The idea of Rylan patronizing anyone!

So who at ITV/This Morning do you think is seething that they were passed up for Rylan's inexperienced husband?

I quite like Rylan. He's OK at what he does -- an informal "relatable' not too bright TV presenter. But his husband? HE'S GOT ZERO EXPERIENCE!! Why was he even considered?!

BIB, that guy didn't look impressed with them, especially when Rylan ended the interview by wittering on about the weather.
In that showbiz link up with Ferne McCann, she ignored the questions Dan put to her. She was just conversing with Rylan.
Dan's fluffing his lines. Rylan is definitely carrying him throughout this.

I thought they were fine. Bumbling was to a minimum. Dan seemed a little nervous but loosened up as it went on. I don't think Rylan belittled him at all. They worked well together but then I like them. And I don't like This Morning so expect nothing from it.

I get that Rylan isn't for everyone but I think he's very good at what he does. He's a natural, quick witted and, I think, very likeable.

They did fine. Dan's calm is a nice contrast to Rylan's cheese. I liked them together.

Certainly preferable to the insufferable wheezing smug of Phil and Holly.

And Rylan didn't even correct himself, it took the guest to explain he wasn't a serial killer!!!!
Now Dan's pulling chicken out of his mouth.... it can't get any worse surely?

Dan is a delight. He got me through my darkest times (BB14). I won't have a word said against him.

Oh my god! Now they're going to interview Chloe Jasmine and that bloke she pretends is her boyfriend. It's not a car crash anymore. It's a mass pile up.

This has given me an extra reason to never watch a show that i 'd never dream of watching in the first place.......

the rise of the self-obsessed, vacuous Essex bozo in contemporary culture continues apace

I wouldn't, the more viewers they get the producers will get into their heads there the next big thing, let them flop on their arses

ITV don't care what you or the viewers want, though. Remember that.

Sadly, facebook is awash with glowing tributes to them, people ACTUALLY thought they were brilliant... Good grief!

It was bad. Rylan seemed very comfortable and at ease with the whole thing whereas Dan was very wooden and awkward. He could get better over time but overall it was a disaster
