I have been told in this forum that it doesnt matter if you have never managed before and that its a "completely different job" to a club manager.

So why should only the best players be considered? Why not a god awful player?

Zat Knight playerd for england, him and steve guppy could do a job together.

It is no more ridiculous than a dream team of shearer and rio.”

Well it's possible the guys you mention could be great but as I said I think someone who has experienced international football and tournaments would have more knowledge.

The way Beckenbauer, Klinsmann, voller did for Germany, to use one successful country as an example. I'm not saying "this will work, do it" I'm just saying international management is different so it's worth looking at.

According to some reports in media Klinsmann is in talks with England to become their new manager.

He would certainly be a refreshing change after all the crap we have had to endure in the last 5 years.

I can see the tabloids going mad for the FA appointing a German but as you say he might be a better option than some of the potential candidates and Klinsmann actually seems to want the job.

Klinsmann is not s tactician. He is obsessed with fitness and knows how to motivate his team. They won't play great football, but they will run and fight for the shirt. Klinsmann definitely won't put up with half-arsed performances.

He was a flop at Bayern where Lahm and the players had to get together before games and work out how they were going to play and Low did his tactics for Germany, but he is a motivator for sure

But still Klinsmann took the USA to the copa America semi-finals, maybe if he had an assistant who was a tactician, they would be a formidable pairing to take England forward

Yes, could be. It would definitely be an upgrade from Hodgson.

On a side note, what is Frank Rijkaard doing these days? Is he still coaching? He somehow disappeared off the radar after producing some amazing teams. Rijkaard is one of my favourite coaches of all time. I still remember that sublime Netherlands team of 2000. They just played the most gorgeous-looking football.

I think he quit managing altogether a few years ago now.

Statistically, Fabio Cappello is the most successful England manager with a 66.7% win rate and Kevin Keegan is the worse with 38.9% win rate.

We only suffered ONE loss under Terry Venables, but drew too many times which affects his stats.

It appears the FA are only interested in people who have a media voice, who can criticize them. Its laughable. The FA should be disbanded, they are like Fifa in microcosm.”

We're getting a German who has won nothing with USA. The FA don't want to have the England supporters on side seems we don't matter it's all about what they want.

Not necessarily defending Klinsmann, but what did you expect him to win with USA The World Cup?

Can we not re-unite the Low and Klinsmann successful partnership??

We also didn't play a competitive match under Venables for two years and when we did have five, all at Wembley, won only two.

Who and what do the England Supporters want?

One of the many problems is that the seem to have no idea on what they want, but a lot on what they do not want.

I still think that you can do a lot worse than have 'Twitter' as the England Manager.

He could be assisted by 'Fans on Club Forums' as the coach and to be groomed as the successor.

They can both be overseen by the Director of Football ' Opinionated Ex Pros who easily forget that they played for England sides even worse than this one'.

That is the perfect blend of skills and their insight of the game would be second to none.

The only two problems with Low are 1) he extended his contract with Germany until 2018 and 2) he might not want the job.

The German press is reporting Klinsmann wants the England job.

Why do you think Klinsmann is tactically inept? Is it because another forum member said so?

Bierhoff confirmed that Klinsmann is in talks with England and wants the job. He said something like "He will be good for England, but he's not always the easiest person to deal with. He wants to change everything." So not quite the safe bet people are saying the FA want. But then Bierhoff and Low bad a strained relationship with Klinsmann by the end of it

I know this was a question to some one else, but on the same theme, I've read a bit by a few people who follow US football pretty closely and they have been pretty critical of Klinsmann and his selections and formations for quite some time.

As a name, I'd take him based on the fact that I havent watched a USA game since the last World Cup And have no recollection of what they were like then anyway.

A Sky Sports Germany presenter was interviewed on Sky Sports News and he seemed to be of the opinion that he wasnt a good tactician

Klinsmann would change everything? That's exactly what we need, a change in attitude & the way we do things at international level.

Whoever we get will be deemed tactically inept, and everything else that is bad. It is part of the job.
