there's that dinosaur and full time wacko hoddle mentioned again.

What a choice, hoddle, big sam or a motivating but tactically useless klinsmann

All will be absolutely useless

Err hello, we couldn't beat them in this tournament, so the evidence is hardly nil. The fact we beat Wales and they beat Slovakia is irrelevant. Weird reasoning.

If it has to be an English person, then that is tough, as there just are not that many options to select from, however if it is an English-speaking person, then that of course opens things out a bit more, and personally I would go with someone like Michael Laudrup or Frank de Boer.

And still a lack of alternative names being put forward by yourself.

Exactly, it is that over-confidence that has got us into this situation, where we think all we have to do is turn up, and we will win, well sadly those days have long since disappeared.

Past record does not mean much. We've played Slovakia four times. We've won three, and drawn one. What happens the next time we play them will be decided then, not on past games.

I'm not sure we have ever had that attitude. Like every other team, we will be confident of winning some games more than others.

We've got a generally very good record in qualifying, including making teams look ordinary where we'd probably struggle against them in a tournament. It's not an assumption of victory.

We beat Portugal just over a month ago.

And they were so scared of Harry Kane they tried to kill him. Compared that to Gignac who they let get three yards away from goal and weren't bothered.

That isn't evidence to suggest we can't beat them, which was my point. Nil is nil, there's no "hardly" about it.

If Wales can beat Slovakia and we can beat Wales, why can't we beat Slovakia?

Why the patronising smiley?

If Roy had fielded our strongest team instead of making 6 changes, then we might of scraped a win against Slovakia.

Friendlies mean nothing, we beat Germany ina friendly a few months back, but GERMANY turn up for tournaments, and if we met them in this tournament we would have been crushed 6-0. If we met Portugal we would have lost 10-0.

Friendlies mean nothing when we can just pluck random score lines out of thin air instead.

Why can't we beat Slovakia, someone should try telling Roy the answer to that question.

We can, but we didn't.

Not seen anyone mention Manuel Pellegrini, could he be another one to consider?

I really like this one! Is he still unemployed?

And there is no way on earth Wenger would agree to leave his incredible job security, even more incredible salary and minimum pressure to become a laughing stock as the England manager (for half the money). Why would he?

We can I guess beat anyone, but time after time, we seemingly don't.

We've won three of the four games played between the sides which tends to suggest we are capable in this case. It's not one of those 'anyone can win on their day' punts.
