After seeing his posts about soldiers being soldiers to kill and using stun guns and other insane stuff in a GD thread, that might not work for him.
Oh God...

I didn't realise Ali was a) posting here and b) so bloodthirsty.

I'm a bit baffled by this sudden support for Glenn huddle, he did ok but he's had his time.

Are we seriously considering someone that hasn't managed in 10 years ?

In regards to your points, I will address them as you made them, so 1) the bookmakers don't always know what they are talking about, look at the very recent leave/remain example.
2) Managers are always going to support their team in public, so him doing so was always the obvious thing, I expect nothing less, that doesn't mean that the press/media have to say the same things.
3) I am complaing about our attitude towards this match, Iceland fully deserved the win, and we once again will have to change our mentality. I don't have much hope in that regards sadly.
4) I am making plenty of sense.
So who are you actually complaining about then if its not the bookies or the manager?

What point are you actually making about England being favourites? What influence does this actually have to anything in reality?

I also said the bookies were generally right. If they were 100% correct there would be no gambling market and indeed no point in sport taking place at all if all outcomes were always certain.

You are suggesting England should go into a game against a country like Iceland with the mentality of not winning, that is frankly stupid. Not Ali and The Rock being on the same level type of stupid but still up there.

Why did Glen lose the England job in the first place.

He said some mad stuff about disabled people being punished for a past life or something along those lines.

EDIT: nabbed it

"My beliefs have evolved in the last eight or nine years, that the spirit has to come back again, that is nothing new, that has been around for thousands of years. You have to come back to learn and face some of the things you have done, good and bad. There are too many injustices around."

"You and I have been physically given two hands and two legs and half-decent brains. Some people have not been born like that for a reason. The karma is working from another lifetime. I have nothing to hide about that. It is not only people with disabilities. What you sow, you have to reap."

"You have to look at things that happened in your life and ask why. It comes around."

So the fact that he's completely thick is actually a natural punishment from God?

What about Steve Bruce? He might get our defence sorted out.

Although it sounds silly to some, i would have Louis Van Gaal. He has a proven track record at international level, also he has a very good record at developing youth players and integrating them, the dutch side of 2014 was a good mixture of youth and experience and he did well with what was a poor side to get 3rd place. Van Gaal also knows the english talent around having worked in the premier league for the last few years. He is the manager for me going forward.

Even if he has ruled himself out of the race, this should convince anyone who thought he'd be a suitable for the job that he's certainly isn't. Redknapp only has one way of playing and has never had a plan b.

But that's a shallow view because it happens again and again and again regardless of manager and all that ultimately happens is the manager gets swapped out and another comes in until it happens the next time and it begins again.

We can happily blame Hodgson for mistakes this time round and that's fine and justified but there is always a reason isn't there? Capello didn't engage with the players, McClaren was a coach not a manager, Hoddle still thought he could play and was condescending etc etc. Individually each reason is justified by it cant always be as simple as a hard luck story IMO.

Players do care, regardless of what people say, and overall the guys who play for England do well with their clubs and handle pressure etc there, its bizarre how it consistently goes wrong at international level.
Failures in the past have been for different reasons. Last night we saw a badly prepared team with some dubious selections. That is down to the manager.

The players clearly do care, but being passionate to win is no good without a decent game plan.

Part if the problem is that disconnect between the fans and the players, the team does seem to be separate from them, rather than being a part of them as one cohesive unit.

Look for example at how the Icelandic team and fans celebrated in unity yesterday, when he we ever seen such things with our team?

Once we can unit the fans and the team, and have a lot closer bond, then we can begin to see things improve at least with the feelings and sentiments.
It's not bloody Soccer Aid or one of the wrestling meet and greets you go to.

Yeah I appreciate that but if all that happens is that the manager is changed then in two years time when England exit the World Cup in a disappointing manner there will be another one-off reason to blame and it will all just start again. What Im saying is there can always be a shallow surface explanation why England fail but when you put all these reasons together over a 20 + year period then its maybe time to look a little deeper.

For me, the next England manager shouldn't be a 'yes' man.

A young, visonary coach is great, but this isn't just about getting the team to perform. The whole infrastructure is in dire need of changing.

What are England's strengths? Why don't they play to them? Do you think a 'young' coach would be able to implement his ideas? And let's not forget the pressures of the media.

If Southgate was meant to be groomed as the next boss, why the hell isn't he part of the coaching staff?

I think experience is needed. If you are going foreign, take LVG, AVB, Wenger or Klinsmann. If you want an Englishman, Big Sam.

We have to look deeper, we've had so many different Managers and nationalities. We've had so many players that are supposed to be better than the last lot.

Nothing is changing.

I think he is the best co-commentator or pundit that there is. He is the only one on TV or radio that you come away having learnt something from, unlike rugby, cricket, tennis where almost every pundit can point out the intricacies of the game.

You compare Hoddle to Savage or Danny Mills who just whinge about the referee or Andy Townsend just telling you what you can see.

There is one outstanding candidate not getting any mention.

I would give the job to Twitter. From what I hear of Twitter he seems to know exactly where we went wrong, what we need to do and have all of the answers.

Twitter should be the next England manager.

No selections played any part in going out. We would not have got past the QF whatever players were picked. They are nowhere near good enough.

The next WC will be the hardest to qualify for, only 13 places, coming second will not even guarantee a play off place.

The list sky sports news showed of potential managers for England. Don't think any of them should be within a million miles of the job. Not even close to good enough.

Scots are campaining for Gary Neville, talks a good game but can't put it into practice. I believe he was the current defensive coach for England.

Most of these armchair critics cannot even agree on the criteria for choosing somebody never mind who it should be.

I actually think Stuart Pearce speaks very knowledgeably and I agree with so much that he says about England.

However, his past record is so poor he wouldn't get near consideration, maybe rightly so.
