.. and other people don't.

I dunno why, but I always remember some girl group called "Madasun". They sang "Walking on Water":

It's like walking on water
You can move mountains with some faith
Like walking on water
Don`t you see
What you can achieve
If you believe it in your heart
You can walk on water

Yours?

Pelicano - you really must consider going to a help group about your obsession with this song!!! If there are no 'appaling music help groups' in your area, try listening to Russ Abbott - Atmosphere!! That always helps me to get other songs out of my head!!

I have mentioned this before, but i will never ever forget the first time i saw the Vanilla video. i swear i thought it was a huge ironic joke....

i lived in a shared house and everytime it was on the box, we's shout through to make everyone come watch and STARE in disbelief at the screen...

It was a huge joke! Well sort off. Pete Waterman made a bet that he could get anything to number 1, no matter how bad they were. So he purposly picked four (without being rude) dogs and picked the worst tune he could find. It managed to get to 14 in the end.

I honestly thought the spice girls were originally a joke like that (esp. when you see the audition tapes...)

I helped it get to no 14! I couldnt help buy it. its SO bad.

Ooooh yeah I remember that for some reason. Was it a Eurovision song or something?

There was that singer whose boyfriend bought her a TV channel on Sky to promote her single - which got to 42 or something

Yes it was. It came 13th in 1999. Strangely enough it was Top 6 in the charts which is unusal for a Eurovision entry lately.

Other flops are:

Scooch - there were like Steps-wannabes and they had this song called "For Sure" that had a latino feel to it.

Point Break - Perhaps the predecessor to groups such as Busted and McFly. Songs such as "Do We Rock" and "You" which were moderate hits in the charts. My sister and her friend met them at a signing in HMV. One of the members Ollie, is in Freefaller.

Lolly - She had hits with the uber-annoying "Viva La Radio" and her cover of "Mickey". She was a TV presenter on BBC

Oh yes, Angelle. I wonder what's she doing now? Probably on the game whoring herself after her boyfriend dumped her, or she bled him dry.

They WERE shite, but they did do quite a good cover of the Littlest Hobo theme 'Maybe Tomorrow'. It might have been used on the Nationwide advert, I can't remember.

Oh yes, I remember them too! I met them backstage at the special TOTP show the Beeb did for Music:live week. I downed a pint quicker than one of them, f**k knows which one, I don't think I ever knew their names. Didn't they come from a tv series like Byker Grove or something, like Ant & Dec?

Yes. I think of two of them were in "Byker Grove". Musically, the song "You" is one of the best songs this decade. Powerful rock-type ballad with very meaningful lyrics.

Worryingly she had a few hits though. 3? There was some sort of xmas single - Rockin' Robin?

I vaguely remember Scooch.
