Hart is just a shot stopper for me - laughable from twoddle last night 'what a great save' when the ball basically hit him from point blank range

Joe Hart has played very poorly for england for a long while.
I could not believe hodgson didnt play another keeper in the friendlies, it made hart undropable. |

Forster played against Australia in May.
![]() I felt that roy should have been playing a 2nd choice keeper for a run of games. We know what we are getting with hart, but we needed another keeper with at leaste some experience in proper qualification games. We had such an easy ride, Forster should have had 4 of them. Unfortunitely it wasnt to be, and hart was undropable no matter how many mistakes he made |

What was even more laughable Hoddle trying to describe why it was a great save as they replayed it in slo-mo. |

The one thing he hasn't been in Euro2016 is a shot stopper.

I don't get the wish for Hoddle either. Misplaced nostalgia possibly.

after the absolutely horrendous views on the disabled, and the use of a faith healer to treat the players during a tournament, i cannot believe he is even in the reckoning. |

My favourite part about Hoddle praising his save was saying that it somehow made up for him earlier allowing a second goal in four games to dribble meekly through his grip.
Rob Green did it once in 2010 and was gone the next game. |

Forster should start the qualifiers as number 1 - Hart has had his shot at it.

The tragedy is that the media actually pay Hoddle for his opinions.

I'm all right with Hart in goal. I think he's a good goalie but he gets infected with the player pressure bug like the rest.

I've always thought Hart is overrated. The season he was in the team of the year, and yes I know I am a Swansea fan so I may be biased, I thought Vorm was absolutely outstanding and played a huge part in us not just remaining in the Premier League but comfortably surviving our first season.
Don't get me wrong, he does have games where you do think 'He's really excellent!' but he does make a lot of mistakes and to me isn't a very commanding presence. In goal you need someone who is consistent, personally I don't think many people would have complained too much if Roy had chosen to drop him after the error he made in the Wales game and it was an error by him rather than it being a brilliant goal by Bale let's be honest. Problem is with Hart, he seems to be all talk, you never had the likes of Schmeichel telling everyone how amazing he was, he did his talking on the pitch. |

It's typical England, rewarded for failure.
Hart has good patches, but he is incredibly inconsistent and always has an error, he is David calamity James for the modern era. I'm sick of thus phrase "fronting up" that hart seems to have invented. Owning up to errors in the media, like a "man", as if it gives him a free pass to be picked the next game. |

I think if Jack Butland is fully fit then I'd agree with battude, make him first choice and its his place to lose. Remember the situation surrounding his injury though, even he cocked up basically not getting a ball out of play when injured.
Not saying keepers don't make mistakes but changing your keeps isn't an automatic guarantee of a safe pair of hands. |

When Butland comes back he should really be number one with Forster his deputy, and Hart no way near the squad.

Maybe he should just concentrate on his own goalkeeping rather than winding up the opposition?
Apparently he was calling Iceland "sh*T* and saying this will be need to be better when we play France. He does seem to have been the spokesman for the team after the game though.. |

Time after time he has done this, to "take ownership of his error". Instead of concentrating on removing the error in the first place. I dont think pep will have him as the #1 at city this season If he moves, what team would realistically come in for him? United - no chance Spurs - no chance Chelsea - no chance Arsenal - no chance Leicester - no chance I could see liverpool perhaps? |

that's because he wants to be seen as the man who "fronts up", passionate, caring about the team etc

I suppose he is one of the more experienced players so has to act as captain but then that just shows up the lack of real leaders.
Any player who need some motivation to play for the country has to be questioned anyway and if that is an issue then our problems start there... |

Everton? They've only got Joel Robles on the books at the moment.

No way would the others you mention want him for sure and you could add one or two more to that list as well - there's a few really good keepers about. |
