Good news that Mark Pougatch is presenting Tuesday nights on 5Live during the Champions League this season. Last season he didn't present any CL nights on 5 Live.

BBC Radio London (FM)
Fulham v Burton Emma Jones
QPR v Newcastle Phil Parry and Bradley Allen (FM commentary) with Jamie Hill
Studio Emma Saunders

BBC Surrey
Boreham Wood v Aldershot Gavin Denison
Woking v Torquay Gary Smith

BBC Sussex
Brighton v Huddersfield Johnny Cantor and Warren Aspinall (commentary on 95.3FM, 104.5FM, 104.8FM and Freeview 720)

BBC Wiltshire
Swindon v Chelsea U23 Andrew Hawes and Chris Hockaday (commentary)

BBC Radio Lancashire
Leeds v Blackburn Andy Bayes and Kevin Gallagher (commentary on 95.5FM, 855AM, 1557AM and DAB)
Preston v Cardiff Dan Jewell and Colin Greenall (commentary on 103.9FM, 104.5FM and Freeview)

Dan Jewell seems seems to be taking a more high-profile role on BBC Radio Lancashire.

Wirral Radio
York v Tranmere Rob Edward and Phil Wilkinson (commentary on 92.1FM and DAB)

BBC Radio Merseyside also carried commentary on 95.8FM, 1485AM and DAB I presume by Derek Jones.

I think I was lucky in deciding to drive to Manchester to watch day one of Lancashire v Middlesex then driving back to London last night. Today/tonight does not look or sound like fun in the North-West.

Question for swfcforever.

I recorded the whole of BBC Sheffield output on DAB,

is it normal that practice that the Home sides on BBC Sheffield don't get full live commentary?

Usually that is correct. However there have been exceptions, like if its a derby match or an important match

Also if the home team is the only one playing there will be commentary. When all teams are playing, there will normally be commentary on one of the Sheffield clubs.

The thing that surprises me about Radio Sheffield, is that unlike Radio Leeds, Radio Humberside and some other local radio stations, they don't usually provide more than two simultaneous commentaries.

This may be of interest to some longer-term sports radio listeners. Steve Tongue, who was LBC's Football Correspondent for 13 years from 1973, was interviewed by talkSPORT's Hawksbee & Jacobs on Tuesday to talk about his new book Turf Wars: A History of London Football. The interview can be heard here - http://talksport.com/radio/listen-again/1473768000# - click the 13:30-14:00 tab and go to 3 minutes 40 seconds. It lasted about 12 minutes.

While the main focus of the interview was Steve's book, both Paul and Andy spoke warmly about LBC's Sportswatch programme from the 1970s and 1980s, describing it as a very successful and long-running Saturday around the grounds show and the pioneer to what talkSPORT's Matchday Live and other such shows do today. Nice to hear H&J talking to Tongue about his contributions to sports coverage on another station on their show, as they did with Tom Ross a few weeks ago as well.

Mark Wilson presenting Super League Live from the Halliwell Jones Stadium

Warrington Wolves v Wigan Warriors - Mark Wilson and Andrew Henderson (8pm commentary)

Tomorrow's talkSPORT 2 commentary team at Hull City v Arsenal will be Simon Humphreys and Ian Ashbee. A second talkSPORT 2 commentary in as many weeks for Humphreys, while I'm fairly sure that Ashbee has worked as a pundit for talkSPORT on a few occasions - I think once on the final day of the Premier League season a few years back and also for Hull's FA Cup Final against Arsenal. The usual Saturday night duo of Sam Matterface and Stuart Pearce will call Everton v Middlesbrough at 5.30pm on the main station, while Jim Proudfoot and Ray Houghton will commentate on Crystal Palace v Stoke City on Sunday. Liverpool v Hull City is talkSPORT 2's 3pm commentary pick on Saturday 24th September.

The thing that surprises me about Radio Sheffield, is that unlike Radio Leeds, Radio Humberside and some other local radio stations, they don't usually provide more than two simultaneous commentaries.
Today I was proven wrong because Sheffield United who was at home against Peterborough at 3pm was on MW/Digital Radio with Jonathan Buchan commentating.

The other 3pm's were:-
On FM/Freeview was Blackburn v Rotherham. Rob Staton commentating alongside John Breckin

Reports:-
Barnsley v Reading-Adam Oxley
Doncaster v Newport-Derm Tanner
Chesterfield v Northampton-Matthew Shaw

17:30 match on FM/MW/Digital/Freeview. Birmingham v Sheffield Wednesday. Andy Giddings commentating alongside ex Wednesday assistant-Russ Wilcox

Jonathan Buchan is hosting Praise and Grumble after the Owls match in the studio from around 19:20 until I suspect 20:00.
Rob Staton hosted build up to kick off from 14:00-15:00.
Jamie Campbell did the Sportsnews.
