The guy just rambles on and on and on and on, i can well imagine 20 odd years olds completely zoning out from him and thinking shut up you old duffer, he doesnt inspire any confidence imo , i bet his team talks are a chore.

Dont see a problem at all with that.
He said everything that was needed last night but due to either The FA wanting a press conference or the media pressure to ask more of the same dumb questions he has had to waste his time doing one |

Exactly, all national managers have a duty and obligation to explain and justify. They are representing a country not taking on a personal and private job.

You think a pre written statement was sufficient to explain that shite last night ? How about explaining to the people of the country and giving them answers, do they not deserve anything ?
He is no longer the England manager what he has to say has no bearing on anything other then an excuse for a lazy media to recycle this mornings articles tonight and tomorrow. If the "people of this country" have been spending today waiting for some answers that will magical explain everything then I would suggest those people get a life |

I think basic ball control, moving about the pitch, and kicking the ball with a degree of accuracy should be a given. The team made mistakes from start to finish that they shouldn't, and you wouldn't expect. They dont normally play like that, which suggests the problem was in their heads. |

Please tell me that quote was a joke or badly quoted?.
And Brian Barwick was a TV executive.. They are probably just sports fans employed into that role because they are seen as good administrators. Is that the trouble at the FA - well meaning football fans but not having the true experience of working in the game for a long time? |

It never ceases to surprise me the amount of football supporters who think that merely changing the England manager will address any of the repeated, serial issues.
There are at least three or four far bigger things to address. I cannot see us qualifying for the WC 2018 as we currently are. |

The FA Chief exective said that.
And he's one of three men in suits deciding the next England manager. ![]() The list of possible candidates will be pretty small. They will not be putting a advert in the paper or on the F.A website. The biggest decision will be do they only go down a route of only considering people who are English or will they go down the route of a foreign manager and you would not really need to be a "football person" to do that. There are "football people" on here and reading some of their ideas who should get the England job and those reasoning behind some of the choices is more then reason for not letting a football person make the appointment |

Allardyce, Martin O'Neill, or Klinsmann. All good shouts, and all would be successful. So lets have Southgate instead.. |

Forget the main issues that are causes for the issues all we need is 1) A coach/manager that shouts and jumps up and down and sings loudly if that fails 2) a tactical manager who studies games and comes up with all sorts of formations if that fails 3)a Englishman if that fails 4) a foreign manager If that fails revert back to 1 and repeat Fixing the issue that English football finds it self in would is going to take time and serious planning and work and an awful lot of work but lets not do that lets carry on doing the same things we have been doing year after year |
