This blackmail story is going way beyond belief. I know it's a soap but all Babe has is that picture. Surely they would just say well it was fancy dress or something like that.

Am I the only one who thinks this

I don't think there is anyone who doesn't think it's silly or beyond belief

In today's day and world it's ridiculous letting her get away with it. They could admit it, tell mick (he'd be relatively sensitive about it and likely cast babe out again), tell the police (it's a hate crime after all) or record her as evidence of blackmail. Like above it could be a fancy dress party too, or stag do or something.

I know they're a different generation where cross dressing was seen as being "wrong" (there's evidence of it in my family and how it was treated and the person concerned is mid 80's now) but they're already in deep doodoo finance wise.

Hopefully Shirley will eventually put 2 and 2 together if things like the other night where she said it was babes fault they were overcharging and then her trying to get the picture from babe... She's a lot of things but she's not stupid. Especially when Pam is usually a mild-mannered gentle busybody and not prone to behaving like that.

Spoiler

Why would the Cokers have tried to burn the photo if Les was just in fancy dress for a party?

Even if they told the truth, In todays world it would not carry the stigma, they are going on about as being outcast by the locals.

I find Babe unbearable and the blackmail storyline ridiculous for all the reasons you've said. That said, I also find Pam beyond irritating, and Les's acting range has not improved much since "Nuts in May". Bring back Claudette to deal with the situation and maybe she can break out her cockney geezer accent again - that was hilarious!

Every time I see Babe, my heart sinks. It's boring, she's boring. What else is going to happen, she's ripping babies from dead girl's wombs at the parlour.

Just watching Tuesday's EastEnders with the whole picture smashing scene and I don't think I've ever had to sit through a storyline so dreadful as this. Please EE, I beg of you to ditch this piece of garbage as quickly as possible. So Les dresses as Christine. How on earth did they create this farce out of something that wasn't a big deal to begin with.

I don't think it's that bad and I am rather enjoying it.
