I don't know how anyone can like her to be honest. Honestly, she comes across as a spoilt brat. Look at her when she was nominated for eviction, you would have thought someone had ran over her cat. She was pathetic, and her relationship with Jackson is equally pathetic.

It doesn't help that she talks and act's exactly like that Made in Chelsea lot.

When people liked her before there was any good reason based on her time in the house to like her, it must be about something else.

And when I said "lots of ways" it was that "lots of ways women can react to another woman's looks". It doesn't have to be that you fancy her, so that being straight rules that out.

Looks often are a factor, and clearly were in many cases. And looks covers a lot, such as her face and body looking natural, and her not being ultra thin. (She played the "people will say I'm fat" card very early on.) Even the idea that she "seemed a bit different from the carbon copy women that we get every year" could be largely based on how she looked, in one way or another (as it was with Carole Vincent in bb8) -- especially since other things about her made it seem she was yet another of a sort we get every year.

I really like Georgina and will be so disappointed if she is voted out.

I could possibly go with the idea of her having insecurities although it still surprises me she would appear on one reality show let alone two if that were the case, but if she had such low self esteem why would she be so gobsmacked at being nominated - surely she would be expecting it?

I like Georgina. I don't need to be verbally attacked for that. This is a forum for opinions, and I have given mine. I can't help it if you don't like my reasons for liking her.

Having her as one of your favourites on launch night seems fine to me, but many people seemed to like her more strongly than that.

I didn't join the love-in because it was too soon for viewers to have good reasons to like her so much, and because of her Day 1 highlights DR bitching about Evelyn, which seemed tactical -- an attempt to influence viewer's perceptions. (Also, Goergina's popularity came with so strong a reaction to her looks that it had to be a major factor in many cases.)

I thought there should have been at least a question mark over her, a wait and see.

A curious thing happens at the start of a new series. If someone makes negative comments about a HM, they're told it's too soon to judge; but it's rare for anyone making positive comments to be told that. There was even one poster (I'm sorry, but I've forgotten their name) who even argued that positive comments were reasonable, even though negative comments weren't.

But such judgements, positive or negative, have to be based on relatively superficial things, although they can be evaluated with the help of our experience with other HMs and our knowledge of the sorts of people who try to get into BB and who BB tends to pick.

So there's Georgina. She's already been in a reality show. She seems to have media ambitions. She's using her looks. She doesn't have an ordinary job (or, it seems, any job at present). And on Day 1 she's already making negative comments about another woman (Evelyn) behind her back. (In the old days, that alone would have been a strong negative and has been treated as a strong point against some HMs even years after they were in BB).

None of that means I'll necessarily dislike having her as a HM; but I feel I've learned over the years to be suspicious of strong early popularity when there doesn't seem to be any good reason for it, and especially when how a woman looks seems to be a factor. (That's not only about being good looking. I also didn't join the early popularity of Carole and Laura in bb8, Kat in bb9, Becky in bb13, or Jale in bb15.)

You haven't been verbally attacked. This is a forum for opinions, and I've stated some opinions of yours about Georgina. It's not that I don't like your opinions. I disagree with some, and with others wonder what their causal basis could be.

BTW, in the current favourite HM poll, Georgina is still the 2nd most popular female HM, behind (surprisingly) Jayne.

I think her self-esteem issues are more in terms of her looks and her ability to appeal to men.

I suspect that she has a good relationship with most of the people in the house and was, therefore, surprised to find the house turned against her (you tend not to think that it only takes 3 or 4 people out of 14 for you to be put up). Although, to be honest, I think her reaction was more being really upset at the potential possibility of having her relationship with Jackson come to an end than anything else.

Fair enough, but it felt that way. Maybe that's how Emma feels when Georgina gives off her "negative energy"?

Really? I don't think she even likes him. Her reaction to his having a son was quite extraordinary. There's no time for a gf where there's a child, in Georgina's selfish little world. She flat out admitted she wouldn't have got 'roped in' if she'd known; five minutes before she tore the head off him for having his make-up done by Evelyn.

I agree - all this low self esteem malarky butters no parsnips. It may have some sort of truth for some, but mostly it's a 'high self esteem' problem that makes people think they can do and say whatever they like with no consequences.

To be honest I'm quite incredulous that anyone would be surprised by her reaction to his kid. When you're young and looking for someone for a relationship the last thing you want is someone who is already tied down with a kid and an ex. Most people would want a good few years of fun with a partner before being tied down with the responsibility of a kid and a family. Right from the start there are two other people in his life when there should just be you.

Now that she has got to know him and develop feelings for him I'm sure it's just something she'll have to adjust to but it's perfectly understandable that she would not have gone there if she'd known in advance and that's precisely the reason Jackson was initially reticent about letting her know about the kid at the start.

I like Georgina. I think she has either been really hurt or she has such low esteem that she feels everyone is somehow 'out to get her'. I don't think Emma has any understanding of how the rest of us think. She is really irritating and to preach to someone about how she feels and all the rest of the garbage she comes out with is boring. Her voice gets me too. I do wish someone would gently tell Georgina how she is coming across because I am sure that that is not really who she is inside. She reminds me of Kate Winslett to look at.

At least Georgina gives us something to watch (no not the bed antics. I could do without that). I prefer housemates who do stuff, likeable or not.

It sounds ass backwards to me. Georgina has SAID she doesn't like her and wants nothing to do with and had several goes and got Jackson to have a go. But she's nice really?

I want Georgina to know she's acting like a nasty brat, I don't think 'gently telling her', will help and don't see why she deserves all the pussyfooting when she is incapable of just being decently civil herself, personally.

Bit in bold - really? No family, parents, siblings, best friends? It's an incredibly selfish attitude and selfishness seems to be a forte of Georgina's. It was the use of the term 'roped in' that I found particularly telling. She doesn't appear to even like Jackson... or anyone... or anything. It was after she had apparently 'developed feelings', by the way, that she made the 'roped in' speech.

Her initial reaction - to not be able to even muster an 'he looks so like you!' 'he's adorable' or ANYTHING vaguely normal to a photograph of someone's pride and joy is very telling about Georgina. She's a self-obsessed brat and all the justification on this thread and elsewhere seems to me to be scrambling and desperate.

I agree with you about Emma, I don't think she is particularly nice about people, but because she turns it around to say how they make her feel, and upsetting her energy or whatever, it make it looks like she is always the victim.

Just because she hugs trees and tried to give CPR to a moth, doesn't mean she can do no wrong or get special treatment.

I am afraid like a few of us you are not in the Get along gang that try and out do each other with their anti Georgina bile. It is the same series every year on here and that is why I rarely post here now as you cant move for the Sheep.
