Apple Patent to stop fans using cameras at concerts
Everything Goes
30-06-2016
A few years ago tried to patent a technology using infrared leds to stop cameras working. This will be used at concert to stop fans being able to use their cameras. This patent has now been approved.

So if in the not to distant future you own an iPhone and can't take pictures or video at a gig while your pal with an Android phone can you know why.

And of course no one will stick some duck tape over the IR sensor will they?

An epic fail waiting to happen

The all cameras sees in Infra Red so duck tape won't work. Try it yourself with any phone. Get an infra red remote control. Open up camera app on any phone. Point remote control at the camera. Look at the camera app or take a picure and you will see it shining.

The infra red on a phone is the emitter (if there is one), I think they are talking about the camera itself detecting infrared.
