Smart Box No Sound
I am in the Caribbean on holiday for a while in case any answer needs me to be on UK Entertainment.
The Smart Box is working and I have good picture on Channels, but there is no sound. We also use Apple TV on this TV and sound is OK when using that service. I have tried switching off the Smart Box and reconnecting, but still no joy. Can someone give me any advice on this frustrating problem? |

What Smart box?
How is it connected to the TV (eg SCART, HDMI or phono leads)? What Audio Output format is it set to? Need a bit more detail before anyone can give a definitive answer. |

The box is a T8 Smart Box. I have no other information on it. . It is connected with an HDMI cable.. The Digital Audio Output is HDMI pass through.
I was able to use it when I was visiting about 6 months ago and do not think anyone has used it a lot. I cannot find any more details about the actual box, but we use Kodi to watch TV programmes |

Can you change the Audio Output at all? See if it has an option such as PCM, LPCM, Stereo or similar. I suspect it is outputting a format the TV doesn't like. Forcing it to output plain vanilla stereo should work, if of course it has that option.

No I cannot find a setting that I can change. The sound is fine on all Channels in our local package and Apple TV also works well.
HDMI pass through is enabled. I have opened Kodi, gone into systems but as I have little technical ability I simply do not know how to fix the problem! |

There is a Kodi Wiki here
http://kodi.wiki/view/Audio_settings That shows the various Audio settings available. This is accessed from the main page of Kodi click on Settings and then System. http://kodi.wiki/view/Settings Try setting Enable Passthrough to OFF and see if that has any effect. |

Thanks for that information. Will try it out a bit later and will tell you if it works.
