He does seem socially awkward and not good at reading situations.

I think his biggest fault is crediting others with far more intelligence than they actually have.

No. He's just in there with a bunch of shallow, immature, braindead eejits that he has nothing in common with and who shout over someone talking rationally rather than listen and respond civilly.

OFFS been waiting for the past two weeks for someone to start this thread...

We have one every year, congrats OP

If someone is socially awkward and not good at reading situations, this doesn't have to mean they've got Asperger Syndrome. Plenty of people who do not have Asperger Syndrome are socially awkward and not good at reading situations.

To be honest, I can't help but find the suggestion a bit insulting. Why do we assume that just because someone is calm and intelligent, that they must be autistic? I don't find him socially awkward, just in with people that bar Laura and Evelyn, are a lot less self-assured than him.

Yes he assumes those muppets have the same thought patterns and processes that he has. He assumes they use the same logic.

In this area he's quite dumb.

I'm surprised it's taken this long

Thanks for your congratulations - greatly appreciated, and I am delighted to be the first one this year.

No, he doesn't show any symptoms IMO. He's just a sh!t stirrer who can't handle the backlash.

Andy does not have Aspergers. But just for your reference, autism is not defined by quietness or shyness at all or social awkwardness necessarily. So many people have so wrong an impression of what autism is.

I'm sorry your thread is being ridiculed by fellow members LilyAnna

There is nothing ridiculous about your comment, and it deserves a respectful response

I agree that Andy appears to flounder in certain social situations and his responses are certainly a bit muddled on occasion. Whether or not that is reflective of a medical condition, I could not say, not having any personal knowledge of aspergers

well my sons autistic but everyone with ASD is different.....

maybe he's a bit awkward with people he knows don't like him, that he doesn't know very well? or maybe he finds its difficult to relate to people younger then him - he's a fairly mature 35 - he doesn't seem to have problems talking to Jason at all

People on here have no idea what Asperger Syndrome even is or looks like. Every year it's the same.

Well said!

Too many amateur psychologists/doctors, without any qualifications whatsoever, diagnosing complex medical conditions without recourse to the subjects' medical and social history and without undertaking proper scientific tests

No, it's called a brain.

Thank you for your kindness and it was a genuine question. As for those who choose to ridicule, let them get on with it if it makes them feel better. I have been on here long enough to know who the reasoned posters are, and which to ignore.

No. Not even close.

He's a fully functioning person without any mental health issues such as autism that's clear to see. He just doesn't fit in with this particular group dynamic.

it's not him being extremely socially awkward and having certain limitations with social interaction it's the group he's currently in that's putting him in a certain role and situation.

All these arm chair psychiatrists, two weeks ago people were diagnosing Gerogina with OCD because she was upset people had put her clothes on the floor and touched a monitor.

Ridiculous!

No Op ,I just think he's very low on emotional Intelligence ,but has a very Analytical brain that sees things Logically and that's where his problems lie ,as it comes across as patronising to the others

Autism is not a mental health issue.

Like clockwork. And we've already had a thread about Jackson's split personality.

Any advance on Asperger's?
