I'm have no qualifications relating to diction but I feel the same way.

I'm a culchie, he's a townie and he talks so damn fast. None of my family can make him out and when he speaks they immediately turn to me as his interpreter.

But - and I hadn't actually realised this - turns out i'm only picking out, on average, three words in a sentence and pretty much guessing what he's saying. But it works.

It's testament to how well I know him that I've always just 'got' what he was saying but when we're talking about something so abstract I couldn't possibly fill in the blanks I'm stumped.

I do scold him but he's completely incapable of enunciation. "Ack, dunmatter, dunmatter."”

Oh me, oh my!!! Are you sure he actually asked you to marry him?

I like the Scouse accent and have no problem understanding it, but I can only just about understand Alex. He seems to whistle through his teeth like an old guy with ill fitting dentures, I don't think it is anything to do with his accent.

No, he doesn't sound like a scouser at all! I'm from Liverpool and haven't heard anyone speak like that. I think he mumbles and has a bit of a strange twang to start with, but definitely not a typical Liverpudlian accent!

Oh, I think he would say there's a question mark over that one.

Nope, we're all a bit stumped. You should post more. We need to muck in together to decipher what the buggers mumbling about.

Watching this I think the problem is his tongue is actually too big for his mouth and his teeth are tripping on it
