TBF after the Russia game there didn't seem to be any violence between fans at England games.

Probably too shell shocked and fed up to fight after the last 2 though!

It was interesting tonight Coleman brought on attacking players even though Wales were in front whereas against Russia Hodgson was accused of playing it safe which cost us 2 points.

Yes that's true, I was just pointing out the reason. I don't believe people actively think like that, it's just ingrained in the psyche.

Btw I wish England were still in. Would be a fab atmosphere nationwide
With you there. First major tournament I remember following was 1978 and willed on the Scots. 1986 and particularly 1990 I was supporting England. I support Cardiff and Southampton and follow the premiership etc so why wouldn't I? I didn't cheer when Iceland won, but my underdog tendencies and England's performance didn't exactly make me feel gutted, I admit. England v Portugal, say? No question who I'd want to win there....

Rambling. Might be in a (v pleasant) state of shock!

I cried when we lost to Russia in the Euro play offs at the Millenium Stadium years ago and thought my chance of seeing us in a major tournament were gone and tonight.....tonight I cry because of how proud I am of our wonderful team.

Tonight we showed we are not just a one man team, everyone played their part and no matter what happens on Wednesday this team will go down in history.
My memories go back further than yours sadly with Joey Jones being mugged for a non penalty at our supposed home game up at Anfield

Then Paul Bodin blasting the ball towards Westgate Street instead of into the goal.

Thankfully this Wales team has made 58 years of hurt long forgotten. Now its all sweet dreams and even more adventures in France.

I thought Bale was terrific.

Near the end, he got the ball on the right touchline in his own half, made the defender look like a dummy, and very nearly released Ramsey with a long ball.

He was a team member in the way Ronaldo wasn't. No wonder Ronaldo is jealous of him.

I would love Wales to get to the final.

----
And Robson-Kanu's turn was sublime.
Bale is so gifted he puts the fear of God into other players. I wish I was able to watch him only in the internationals and count how many are marking him.

His creative ability with the ball is unquestioned and the space he makes for team mates proves the dismantling of the opposing teams.

Belgium with their so called Golden generation team must be aghast at the chances they blew but then again realistically they ought to have conceded 4,5 or even 6 goals tonight.

Can we beat Portugal , I like to believe so they are too often a one man team and they are prone to fouling if put under pressure.

I would ignore the issue of the suspended players and just get on with it. Sometimes talk of suspensions is almost an excuse to perform poorly and I'm sure Coleman won't be having any of that ; Wales will still have eleven players on the pitch.

Iceland have been superb too and there are definite parallels with Wales, another well coached side with brilliant team spirit.
Also, I believe Portugal will be without William Carvahlio, who has been a pretty decent ball-winner in the middle for them. Portugal may arguably miss him more than Wales miss Ramsey.

Iceland and Wales are comparable in team spirit but Wales were different class tonight. People will bang on about passion and heart and rightly so, but I have rarely seen any British team play with the composure on the ball that they had. I didn't think they had it in them. Very well done.

That is a compliment indeed! What impressed me so much tonight was here we saw an example of exactly what a captain should be. We go one nil town to a team most people thought would at least get to the final if not win it but we continue to play our own game and refuse to let our heads drop, when we do get a chance our captain is there and his goal brings us back into the game.

Ashley really had a rough time of it when he first started playing for Wales, being a Swansea player and considering most of our matches are played in Cardiff he took a hell of a lot of flak from Cardiff fans and it is a compliment to him that he pushed on and is now captain of our national side and is loved pretty much by every welsh man/woman whether they be Cardiff or Swansea.

Same goes for Ramsey, when he played down here ages ago for the Under 21's he had hell of a time in front of Swansea fans but the Cardiff/Swansea divide is forgotten. 9/10 you'd go to Wales games and see scuffles between Swansea/Cardiff because people could not leave their club alliances at home, now it's friendly banter and realisation that we are all supporting the same cause and it doesn't matter who we support at a club level.

We are witnessing something very special here and it has been a privilege to watch this wild, crazy ride and who knows where the heck it stops as I was first convinced we would lose to Northern Ireland then I was SURE we would lose tonight so on we go!

I was there.

17th November 1993, the old Arms Park, Wales vs Romania, North Stand, first row, directly in line with the penalty spot at the East Terrace end.

0-1 down early but then Dean Saunders pots one in from a Gary Speed cross and it's 1-1. Seconds later Saunders goes down in the area and Wales get a penalty. Up steps Paul Bodin, with all his Swindon Town experience behind him, and that moustache, he puts the ball on the spot...

I'll never forget the steward who was stood in front of me that night. He had a job to do, he had Ivor's jacket on, but he couldn't care less about the crowd that night. When the penalty was awarded he reacted with a level of ecstasy that I haven't seen before or since.

Bodin started his run-up. Score this and we're going to America '94...

...and Wales are into the semi-finals of Euro 2016.

What happened between those last two sentences is a horror that no man should ever have to endure.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. 3-2 away to Moldova; 5-0 away to Georgia; Neville Southall putting in the greatest goalkeeping performance in the history of the sport but still conceding seven goals; Bobby Gould being appointed manager; Bobby Gould picking himself to play up front in a match against Leyton Orient that we ended up losing by five goals: Bobby Gould picking himself to play up front in a match against Leyton Orient that we ended up losing by five goals (I put that in twice so you can all really understand it, when England were losing penalty shoot-outs in major tournament quarter-finals to quality teams, Wales were losing to Leyton Orient with Bobby Gould up front); playing a win-and-we're through game away to Serbia with Nathan Blake up front on his own (suddenly Bobby Gould as a striker doesn't seem as bad); playing park-the-bus at home against Russia when 0-1 down on aggregate and only putting on our sole goalscoring threat two minutes from the end...and putting him on the wing.

People say this Welsh side are a one man team - which is demonstrably untrue seeing as they battered Belgium tonight despite the fact that the only thing Gareth Bale did all night tonight was escort half the Belgian team away from Ashley Williams for the first goal. But even if they are a one man team, I've spent the best part of 25 years watching Wales get hammered by teams consisting of ten postmen and one genius so if it's now our turn then we've bloody earned it!

I've cheered Vinny Jones on to the pitch like he was the second coming of John Charles. I've seen Andy Melville go from the worst defender in international football to being the first name on the Wales team sheet without him actually getting any better.

Savage. Shirt. Bin.

Every Wales fan from back in the day will have just sucked the cushion off their sofa up their arse from cringing so much after hearing those three words.

We're in the semi final!!!

What a fantastic performance the players gave it everything not even the ref who was card happy could stop us. Even at 1-0 down I still thought we would get back into the game.

I couldn't believe my eyes...

Not because Wales were winning, but because they played so fricking well Cruyff turns and backheel passes! So much confidence, organisation and excellent ball skills. What a good manager can do!!

For me, they are now the favourites against Portugal.

Was ill last night, couldn't watch it live, but caught it this morning and am cursing that I couldn't watch this great performance as it happened.

No, Belgium weren't at their best, bur Wales played as a team, didn't go to pieces when they went behind, and some of the individual skill such as Kanu's take and turn for Wale's second was football of the highest order.

Coleman made it very clear when he said after the game that 4 years ago Wales were as far away from this point as could be imagined. The best quote I could give is "Don't be afraid to fail".....

Wales showed all the overplayed words, desire, heart etc. But mostly they played AS A TEAM!.

Well done Wales.

Well I would imagine if Wales had the choice they'd rather race Portugal than Belgium so I'm thinking that they will consider Portugal very , very beatable .

That performance will take a while to sink in. Utterly incredible. Probably said it before, absolute heroes every single one of them.

Ramsey after the first game has had an excellent tournament so he will be a huge miss. Davies is a massive loss in defence, hes been quality. Id rather see gunter as one of the back 3 and have richards on the right as collins lack of pace worries me too much.

Assuming jonny williams will be replacing ramsey. Just so proud to get this far. Hopefully the belgium goal is a wake up call to close portugal down quicker when theyre within shooting range.

Come on wales, nearly there

It's quite a significant blow to the Welsh team that Ramsey wont be playing in the semi final.

I really hope it doesn't cost them the match.

I feel for Ramsey too this will probably be his only chance to play in a semi-final of a major tournament. I thought I'd see Gazza tears last night, but he held it together and didn't lose his head. What a player!

In the same way that England considered Iceland very, very beatable?

That would be a dangerous, complacent attitude to adopt and I hope they don't. Nor do I think they will.
