It's not as though it just slipped out. He said it deliberately, and the important thing to me is why he said it deliberately. If she didn't give a crap about him going off with Evelyn, he wouldn't feel as good about himself. By saying things to get a reaction from Georgina, he feels good about himself. It doesn't matter to him if he's hurting his 'missus' in the process. Get Georgina out so she can watch him trying to have better luck with one of the other girls.
