I wonder what C5 are going to put on in place of BB to pull in more viewers, because pulling in viewers is what your meant to do as a channel, isn't it.

I do think this is the end of the civilian version. Channel 5 are only arsed about CBB...

It certainly will be the last civilian IMO. Which is annoying because without the increased competition I have a feeling it would have been more viewed than BB12, 13, 15 and 16. Even with the competition right now it's beating last years.

Such a shame this great series will have to end early.

The best way to make the show more interesting would be to ensure that when somebody storms into the diary room saying they want to leave BB says: "OK, exit on the left".

BIB More hate directed at the poor then in order to distract the masses from the real scroungers... The Bankers, Corporations such as Amazon StarBucks etc and our corrupt Politicians.
Maybe BB will be picked up by another channel if this is the end of it ?

I just wish they'd put a diverse range of people in there (even some 'ugly' (normal) looking people too) from all backgrounds and ages and actually just let things unfold with a few interesting tasks thrown in.”

THIS ^^

Go back to normal (AKA non-ADHD screaming vapid people) and let's see how things progress there for a change.

I just want to see some "normal" non-fame hungry people in there. There are loads of them out there. So let's have a cast that's entirely made up of people who do not have agents or super famous friends.

And it'd be nice to have the over 30s being the majority rather than these callow barely post-teens.

C5 has renewed the BB contract for anther three years, I can't help but wonder if the contract is for three more CBB's or both the <cough> celeb version AND the civilian BB.

Desmond had a clause in the contract that if BB underperformed it would be axed
No idea if this is still in place but it could well mean this is the end of BB after this year's mess.

Not surprised.

Celebrity BB is really the only one worth watching now.

No idea what they'll show. The only thing I ever watch on C5 is BB.

Is there an official reason for it ending early ?

Reports ive read said it was scheduled for 64 days now it could be as short as 50 ?

Emma said on friday "we have 3 1/2 weeks left that would make the final around mon 25th or tues 26th ?

Shortest BB ever - its dispiriting that C5 are not commiting to BB anymore but rather tortuously killing it .
Its amazing that anyone bothers voting , especially with mass terminations on the horizon.

I've only ever watched 1 series of Big Brother since it moved to channel 5 and that was in 2013, but must admit I'm liking this series so disappointed if it is pulled too soon.

I think that's the general consensus, that;s it one of the best C5 series. And it would have been doing so much better if it hadn't had such strong compeition. I mean, worth noting that Weds show got 1.3m when it was on at 10pm avoiding the competition which is what BB14 was getting.

Why don't they just make the summer CBB series three months long? There must be enough z listers around nowadays willing to go in for the long haul. The winter series can be for the more established names with genuine work commitments who can only sign up for 4 weeks max.

The celebrity version was meant to be a light hearted, shortened and a bit of fun for viewers and HMs alike, though it had its darker side for some of them. There is still validity in that if they stop importing idiotic vapid Americans with inflated chests, radioactive teeth and egos that would sink battleships, with the sole remit to be destructive.

The normal BB should revert to the serious version with very strict rules, no outside contact, full live feed , HMs without agents or media experience and bring back follow on programmes like "diary room uncut" and a proper type of "Bots" with good analytical discussion, no freaky guests on the panel or audience, and definitely NO Rylan flaming Clark or what ever he is called.
Then it might be watchable. The trivial trash approach is killing it. Or has killed it.

Simplistic statement, and totally wrong. It's exactly like getting into a really good book and then suddenly finding someone's ripped the last 50 pages out.

Been on this forum for 12 years and watched BB since the beginning in 2000. Big chunk of my life has been spent enjoying BB like many on here. Sad to see it reduced to this and I feel in my heart of hearts that this is the end for the civilian BB

channel 5 have slowly killed BB, hopefully someone else buys it, ITV Be always needs shows and will get it back to what it's supposed to be, too many twists needlessly, too many reality TV pricks who are too anonymous for the real CBB

To be honest both BB and CBB needs to be off the air for a few years then come back fresh and back to basics.

Have you seen what is on ITVBe ? If ITV got hold of BB and put it on there then this show would either remain the mess it is now or get even worse. ITVBe would make even more people switch off.
