Hi all,

Currently have the iOS 9.3.3 Beta 4 running and sent a text earlier to a friend with a Samsung Galaxy phone.... and was surprised to get a delivery receipt back!

Anyone else on Beta 4 confirm?

Didn't even realise b4 had dropped .

Will update and try it.

If this is going to be a new feature, very surprised they are bothering now after all these years, especially with SMS being on the decline.

This is what popped up....

Quote:
“ Read report for message to +44777xxxxxxx
Your message to: +44777xxxxxxx, has been read on date 2016-07-01 19:12 GMT.”

Did it cone through like a separate SMS? Surely is it was going to be part of iOS it would be better having 'delivered' under the green bubble in the same way as it works for iMessages.

Maybe it's just something to do with the person you text and nothing to do with iOS.

Came through as a separate message which I thought was odd.

Be careful you're not being charged for that. I know on Three, they charge for sms reports.

You didn't happen to have *0# in the message?

No confirmation when I sent a text on beta 4 using an o2 sim.

Indeed ! Hopefully if it is a new feature, there'll still be an option to switch it off !

This would be my guess too. The recipient could be using an SMS app that sends read receipts back as SMS.
