Italy will kick themselves, only they'd probably miss.

Christ, that was hard earned by Germany.
I think they scored four straight penalties where they would have been out if they'd missed.

He went the right way almost every time. Shame, great passion and flair from this Italian side.

I thought Germany had a chance when you tipped Italy, but it was nerve wrackling close

Why do Germany always win at penalties

Some truly awful penalties in that shoot-out but the one from Zaza topped the lot. What on earth was he doing with that run up?!

Ah well. At least it wasn't one poor b*gger missing...hate that.

Germany Just about edged it in open play, I think, so not an unfair result overall.

If Wales go to penalties on wednesday am hiding behind the sofa.

No, they still haven't; the match ended in a draw.

I think he is finally showing his age

As a younger Buffon would have got to that ball quicker

Ha ha. Someone needs to make a video of all the missed penalties and dub them with the Benny hill theme tune. Enjoyed that twice as much as the actual match.

Didn't want Germany to win but it was inevitable once it went to pens I guess. Neuer made one fantastic save and then totally out-foxed Darmain with that cheeky point and feint for the last miss. Buffon was good too and it's a pity he'll end his career without a Euros.

Italy can hold thier heads up and Chelsea look like they've got one hell of a manager.

Interestingly both 'keepers pretty much stayed on their lines during the shoot-out; a law which seemingly doesn't apply in the Premier League any more.

Such an anti German reaction in the studio after that match, the BBC should be ashamed.

Zaza with the greatest run-up of all-time. The ultimate in "I really don't want to kick this ball."

That's because they're better than everyone at everything.
