The only 4 players on the pitch today who play in England all missed their penalty (Ozil, Schweinsteiger, Pelle, Darmian) Hmmm

I think Italy have only had 2 goalies in the last 50 years.
Zoff and Buffon. I may well be wrong of course, It just seems like it.

A super-sub by Conte the world-class-manager
It was the only time he touched the ball. Too right, gemma. An inspired sub by the Saviour of Chelsea . I hope a team in the Premier League signs Zaza, if only to see him take another penalty like that. That boy has entertainment value.

Was at the Brandenburg Gate for the match tonight and it's enough to make me hope Germany are champions

I don't believe everyone hates Germany, I don't.
That was a massive tactical battle tonight which Germany at least edged in open play. I'm not sure if that was the best or worst penalty shootout I've ever watched but Germany had to kick 4 to stay in the tournament. I think Germany are successful because they are the 'big' nation that nearly always plays like a team. |

I'm just heartbroken
![]() Too upset to even discuss this game ![]() Now I'm rooting for France or Portugal to win it. If it's a Wales v Germany final I'm not even going to watch |

Germany deserved that.
Both teams showed their quality during the 120 minutes and how not to freeze on a big occasion. |

But they could so easily have won that ![]() I can't see anyone stopping Germany bar France (and even that is a big maybe given their defence and style of play). |

Italy went out with heads held high. Germany have been my favourites since prior to the tournament.
Thank you Italy for getting rid of Spain! |

I honestly don't think we can discount Portugal sliming their way to the title playing woeful football.
I think Germany are the best team but they have lost key players for the semis. I would like a Wales v Germany final. |

Does it ever occur to you to think before you hit the submit button?
As twenty years ago, Italy had so many great goalkeepers they could choose from like Gianluca Pagliuca Angelo Peruzzi Walter Zenga Luca Marchegiani Francesco Toldo Sebastiano Rossi |
