Exactly - he was the Superintendent of the station, not some kind of freelance undercover investigator. He doesn't need to pass everything to his officers, but he DOES need to tell Detectives like Nikki what's going on and he shouldn't be going on his own, on a day off, to confront an informant when a girl has already been sent to hospital and a lady kidnapped. The system is there to protect the officers. |

Did you not see the bit where Claire questioned his actions, as she was seeing it through her eyes as Davey's brief. That is why I say she will feel involved as they had words about it. She will hear those words they spoke in anger again and again. Surely you could see normally they bounced off each other really well and they talked about things. Unfortunately not this too well.
![]() To be clear, I love the series, love the stories and it's because it so well made & acted that it makes me care enough to argue! ![]() it's all good...

Just watched the final episode of the series, having avoided all spoliers on here or elsewhere - and OMG! what a brilliant finale, and how sad was that ending?? ![]() ![]() Fantastic show, so much better than all the other generic rubbish filling up the schedules, a real gem.I can't believe how much all the characters (well, mostly the Garda) have grown on me since the programme started, and although I initially thought that McKay was a bit of a beige, background character, but I'm really going to miss him not being around for the next series Sure, some of his decisions were misguided, but he always had good intentions, impeccable integrity, and wanted to do the best job he could. A sad loss ![]() I'm so relieved that Paudge is OK though - but things just keep going from bad to worse for him, don't they? I know this can't end well for him ... but I don't want to lose him from the show, too ![]() Quote:
The other thread is about to spring into action too, as Series 3 of Red Rock starts on TV3 on Monday week.

Again, I don't see what this has to do with his mistakes? I thought you where saying she would be devastated so, somehow, we shouldn't criticise him. I wasn't going to say it before, but as you've said it.. even she had doubts about what he was doing and she told him that he was doing was illegal and dangerous to both of them. She begged him to stop!! That makes his actions even worst.

It's good to have a good well thought out tiff ay times. ![]() Roll on the next series. |

Stay strong! I'm going to. I can't believe how much more I've enjoyed this show than any other soap because I never had any idea what was going to happen next.
![]() You're right, of course - it's much more enjoyable when you haven't been 'spoiled' at all ![]() One thing I've been curious about since I started watching the first episode - I believe there were rumours, while the show was in pre-production, that Emmett Scanlan had been approached for a part after leaving Hollyoaks. Not sure if this was true or not, but when I started watching I was trying to figure out which part he might have been offered. I reckon it would have been McGonigle - he'd have been great as the outwardly charismatic, charming character with an evil alter-ego! Or would he have played against type and been super-squeaky-clean & moral McKay? Fascinating to think about, and a shame that he turned it down (again, *if* rumours were true) as it's more of a gritty drama along the lines of Love/Hate than it is a soap, and it would have been great to see him again in a long-running series with such great writing and characters.Quote:

![]() I keep thinking that surely his luck can't hold out much longer ... but still praying that it does, anyway!

I hope Paudge gets through this and stands up to Beaky and becomes a better Guard for it.

Paudge is certainly fortunate and I cannot really think badly of him although he has been a bit stupid. I hope he gets through it and I was pleased that at the end of the last programme the announcer said that it would be back next year.

News of the second series of Red Rock on the BBC. They've just purchased another 40 full length episodes which suggests they will catch up with TV3 pace at some point during 2017

Not only that, but perhaps Red Rock will be around for a good while to come on the BBC.

At the moment I'm looking at ways to pick up the episodes that have been shown by TV3 but not yet the BBC.
I don't know if I'll have any luck, but here's hoping as I don't think I can stand the wait until next year! |

My God! I have only just caught up and all I can say is that I am in awe of this show. For me it beats any other soap hands down and I can't even really explain why. The characters are all realistic and believable all of them in their own way likeable!
I had tried to guess what the finale spectacular would be and was almost sure that Vincent would go to kill David, but shoot Claire by accident, injuring her but killing her miracle baby. Thereby somewhat appeasing this idea of eye for an eye. I NEVER expected the scenes we got! Loving avoiding the spoilers and not knowing where the show is going. I'm just really impressed that the show had been able to deliver so strongly so early on. It truly is a breath of fresh air! Special shout out to how beautiful the Hennessy children are, Claire especially is just stunning.....as is David! |
