Rang up Virgin Media and had to hang up so rude and unhelpful! I rang up and the second person said they could order the V6 but I would loose my Virgin Partners discount (£17 a month) and I would have to pay nearly £70 on top of that for install!
So looks like I am stuck with clunky TiVo ![]() Some VM staff need to learn that it's us pesky, irritating and annoying customers that put a roof over their head and food into their childrens mouths. tom.mockridge@virginmedia.co.uk |

Looks to me like you've been incorrectly charged £40 because it's a manned installation.
This should only be charged when you have the option to self install and choose not to, but you don't currently get this choice with the V6. I also don't understand why your bill has gone up by £2, two TiVos out and two V6's in should cost exactly the same (unless upgrading has affected some sort of loyalty discount). |

I rang up and just been told to go online and register my interest, and I will get a call . They don't seem to care that I've told them that I registered on the day the site went live.

Just received the new contract by email and I am being charged £154.94 for -
Activation Fee Manned Installation Charge V6 Box Activation Fee I have two boxes. Does this look right - apart from the argument over whether we should be charged for manned installation when we are not given the option - should I complain about this ? |

To the best of my knowledge we don't get a loyalty discount, initially I was only going to replace the one Tivo, then er indoors said ask about replacing both at which point the charge went from about £100 to the £154 I stated, incidentally we also have Landline and Mobile phone services through VM and we're on The Full House package we're not sport fans and have DVD/Blu - Ray for the occasional Movie so no Movie channels.

Just found out that some customers have been confused because the V6 has been erroneously referred to as 'Leapfrog' in confirmation emails. This isn't anything to worry about, this was the code name given to the V6 during the trial period. |

I have never known such confusion over pricing. It seems no body is sure what it costs. I am on VIP and have been charged £49.95 per box thats for two £99.90 plus one activation fee.
Some are saying the second box is free on VIP others are saying its charged at £49.95 others £99.95 I will wait and see when the bill arrives and take it up from there. Seems a full staff briefing was not made in time for launch. As for confirmation emails not received one but virgin staff say I should get one soon which makes me chuckle as was orderd on Tuesday. |

AIUI those on XL get the first box for £49.95, the second one for £99.95 and third and subsequent boxes are £149.95.

well from my point of view I was conned into staying with VM back in november when I could have gone to sky at a give away price ... I was told it would be free to swap the tvio for the v6 .... and it look like its got nothing on the sky 2 tb box the vm app is a bag of old socks
I think I know why their is no self install I was told by an engineer that the new leapfrog is way better and faster but it will be a pig to install as it needs it own external modem installed at the same time so its not just a 1 2 3 4 as somone said a few pages back |

I'd make a complaint.
Some VM staff need to learn that it's us pesky, irritating and annoying customers that put a roof over their head and food into their childrens mouths. tom.mockridge@virginmedia.co.uk Since May theres been lots of engineers for unwatchable TV and mega slow broadband but they said it was a local issue, sometimes the signal was so bad the channels said "You are not authorized' etc, with this still going on and off for many months, now with this CS issues - I've lost my love for Virgin Media. (and before anyone says, my name Skylover4life needs changing as I don't LOVE them anymore) |

Upgrading from 1 500Gb and 1 1Tb Tivo. I was quoted £99.95 for Box 1 and £49.95 for box 2 no mention of Activation fee.
I saw a super user post a table showing what the prices should be on the virgin community V6 pages but need confirmation before I go back to Virgin again! |

It's a complete shambles! Upon checking my account further I've discovered that I wasn't sent my 1tb TiVo box when changing to the VIP package!

Hi dannylau...I've just seen your post. Can you post where you got the info for the 2nd VIP box from? I've been charged £49.95 for both boxes plus 1 activation fee...I'm upgrading my current 2nd box from a VHD box.
Cheers |

Install Date
I phoned yesterday and was offered this Wednesday for an installation. Assume there must have been some cancellations.

I called Virgin yesterday spoke to a Scottish woman who was polite enough. I told her i was on 200 Meg and was on the Highest package. She said in total i would have to pay £154 if i wanted a V6 Box, £99 for the Box and the rest for Engineer to visit and Cost of call out. So is she lying because from what ive read on Numerous forums i thought it was £45.99 for Customers on the Highest package. How are the staff allowed to say this and why have they not be properly trained.
