AND today I also tried to make a re contact to Virgin with a 4K V6 TiVo with the chat system and was told she could not give Me the box in any deal she could give me today l ask if I could re join and have the swap when the box come and she said sorry she couldn't do that..... SO the box has no date on her system today so it looks like VM has lost the boxes in transit or they found over heating trouble or software trouble or they just don't care about Sky or BT having boxes already and they are looking for away to drop prices from £200 a box to £0 like Sky ??? Just a shame that they are loosing customers due to the error. .... |

The first new customer (that I know of) has now had his new box installed. He has the V6 as his main box and the 1TB Tivo as the other.
The V6 is very responsive and moves through the guides/channels very fast. The remote is slightly smaller than a normal Tivo one, but heavier. Platform is called DCX960 Software is 20.5.8.RC8-VMB-11C68 120hours HD Recording (1TB) |

It appears that DCX model numbers belong to Arris (they purchased Pace earlier this year) If that's right then the new boxes are built by Pace rather than Cisco and Samsung (so a company with a good track record of Sat/Cable boxes). |

How many programmes can you record at once?
Can you take your programmes elsewhere like you can with Sky Q? I'll ask about portability. |

Does anyone have any idea when the new VM Tivo box is being released?
The new box will be unveiled in a central London location on 30/11/16- attendance is by invitation only (invites have already been sent). Pricing etc may be released before the official launch date. |

The tuners in the diagnostics are labeled 0,1,2,3,4,5- so 6 in total?

After the speculation about what the box looks like, it appears that this was correct:
http://www.virginmedia.com/shop/camp...soon-faqs.html The only difference that he can see on the guide is the presence of channel logos rather than just names as on a normal TiVo. This feature is optional on the current TiVo. The remote control looks about 10% smaller. |

I believe it's optional on the new box too.

Channel logos
Channel logos is an option for all TiVo's ( I think it was introduced with the last update but it could have always been there and I just didn't know about it!). Whilst on the full guide press the green button!

The lost remote feature will probably be very handy for a few people.

The new box is not a complete overhaul. It looks (in terms of software) just like the old TiVo, but is a hell of a lot quicker. Its that quick that if you press on the remote five times it moves on five channels it's very quick, very responsive. The Bluetooth remote is good, as there's no need to point it at the box, meaning that you could even have the box hidden away if that's what you want to do. He hasn't yet had a play around with the full streaming capabilities, but what is known is that he can pause the current playback and pick up on his tablet via the TV Anywhere App (via an iPad) As an Android user, I found that my tablet was not compatible with TV Anywhere service last time I looked. Admittedly, this was a while ago, so I'm not sure if this has changed. If it hasn't, it looks like I wouldn't be able to avail myself of this service

Well, for streaming anyway. The subset of "compatible" Android units is pitifully small.

Great to see finally some details about the new box coming out. VERY sad that the box only has 1TB when sky q has 2TB which means that the V6 will need another update when channels in UHD come as 1TB will not hold much.
OK I haven't gone over 57% of my 1TB tivo but I have 3 so I spread the recording and people likes of shows in my home. Very pleased that 6 channels record has finally got to the UK from the cable company that had boxes that had 6 for few years now. My Tivo boxes had new software update last night I don't know if it's to fix the slowness that is being reported? 20.5.7.rc24-vmc-2-c00 |

Sky Q 2TB has 12 tuners , the main box can record 4 whilst watching a 5th. All the remaining tuners are used for things like PIP , watching live TV on minis and watching live TV on smartphones/tablets. I believe the Sky Q 2TB has an unused tuner which is reserved for future expansion. |

Thanks. Definitely more clarification needed on V6 then.
http://www.techradar.com/news/televi...answer-1309578 None of the Q Minis (multiroom boxes) have HDD all the recording is done on the main Q box which is hooked up to your satellite dish. In theory if the New V6 Tivo isn't linked to a multiroom type system ie non PVR boxes I'd imagine you should be able to record on 5 whilst watching a 6th but until more is released its all guesswork. |
