A VM employee told me that all TiVo tuners can be used to record or for delay TV.

Interesting if true , that sounds like the tuners are not locked down so for instance you could record 6 whilst watching a recording or whilst the box is in standby. Watching live TV would lose you one allowing you to still have 5 channels recording.
Has VM actually conformed it's only 6 tuners because it could be 6 recordable with abother for live or is the clue in the V6 part. |

If you can record 6 things at once I'm definitely getting one.

In theory if the New V6 Tivo isn't linked to a multiroom type system ie non PVR boxes I'd imagine you should be able to record on 5 whilst watching a 6th but until more is released its all guesswork.
I really do hope there's some sort of 'stream to device' service with the new box.Quote:

They are getting installed now in North East and Scotland. They are 1 Tb and ultra hd for netflix and YouTube only at the moment and wifi enabled . Powerline adaptors can be supplied if the wifi signal isn't strong enough ..

You need broadband and super hub 2 or AC or hub 3 minimum and minimum 100mb bb and can only have 2 per household
You need broadband as the v6 box doesn't have its own proprietary cable modem in like the existing tivos for its own return path facility , for the catch up and apps ie youtube netflix hence why you need it to be connected to your Internet. For example a uhd video on netflix averages around 15.9 Mbps for the rate to keep the picture in uhd which is obviously coming off your home connection hence the minimum 100mb |

If you can deffo record 6 items at once, I'll be looking to get it, especially if it's much faster in apps to the current TiVo.

I wasn't sure if they were BS me, but it looks like installations are currently limited to the North East & Scotland. |

[quote=walterwhite;84454433]Cool, can i ask how you know?
Yeah I've got one and had mine for some time , but seen as though customers are now getting them im sure posts will appear also elsewhere and confirm these sort of questions etc . It's massively quicker and slick than the current set up |

Netflix doesn't work on the new box, they hope to rewrite some code and have this rectified by 9 November. The V6 needs to be connected to your modem. If this is too far away, I understand that Homeplugs will be made available. |

Even if you could record 50 channels at once you still have only one pair of eyes. My recording capability is one channel at a time and even then I never get around to watching half of it.
Makes you wonder if those posters who "need" to save 5 or 6 programmes simultaneously spend 20 hours a day in front of a TV.

Personally I find the facility to record multiple programmes at once very useful, because I've got many other things to do which leave me little time to watch TV I can choose what to watch When I want rather than when the broadcaster thinks I should watch them!

Not on all boxes, you must have got lucky! Code is code and I've had many versions on mine and it's never not worked virgin wouldn't bring out the v6 with apps like netflix not working . Hence why they have alpha and beta testers and then internal trials and then public launch. So I'm not sure whoever gave you that info but it's incorrect . Ditto. |

The same could be said for the pile of crap that we have now.
It could be argued that it's that slow to work that it doesn't work on the old boxes either
