Billy Joel - Wembley Stadium - 10 September 2016

Anybody else here going to see Billy Joel on September 10th?

I'm so excited, just paid for my ticket and am going by coach as I'm going alone, so I'll at least be travelling with other BJ fans. Should be a larf

I went to see him in Birmingham 2 years ago and thought that would be the last time, so pleased he's coming again, much as I don't really like stadium concerts.

Really looking forward to it

Might have seen the same gig, LG Arena?

He was only doing like 3 UK gigs I think

Yes, I was at the LG and yes, only 3 gigs. I thought that'd be the last time we saw him in the UK so was so surprised when I was looking on the web at something else completely and saw he was coming over to do Wembley Stadium! I couldn't resist buying a ticket, begging daughter's respite carer to swap days (once I'd already bought the ticket ).

I'll be heading up by coach, National Express, much cheaper than the train and door-to-door pretty much.

Well what a gig. Billy Joel and around 80,000 people walking along the River of Dreams to see the Piano Man

He sang songs we expected, songs we didn't and songs we chose (he gave choices several times for the audience to decide what he played).

This was 2.5 hours of fantastic musicianship - including his band member's rendition of Nessun Dorma and one of the crew singing Highway to Hell fantastically! For a man in his late 60's his voice remains eternally young and strong, his self-deprecation is intact and his sense-of-humour as present as ever.

The atmosphere, considering the size, was more intimate - which is often the case with BJ's concerts. The lighting was good, the screens behind excellent once they started showing us Billy Joel instead of scenes of New York, as impressive as those were (and rather fitting considering the weekend it was).

The venue is amazing - I was in Club Wembley which I hadn't realised till I got there - although the sound is very disappointing. You'd think a venue of this size, charging this amount of money and hosting huge concerts by all sorts of A list bands, would sort out their sound.

A top night!

It was drizzling when I got there at around 5pm but then, when I was sat in the bar looking out the window, I could see it was pouring down It did stop for the concert (8-10:45) though - well timed!

good to hear that I am not a fan but am glad his voice is still there, I watched Streisand on telly the other week and she now sings not much better than my mum
