Question for Glastonbury Goers - Pyramid Stage

I'm intrigued by the crowd distribution in front of the sound towers.

How does the clear walkway thing work?

It separates the crowd at front of stage from the main audience - so how do people get front of stage?

And what is it for? Just to ease pressure at the front - or is it some kind of semi VIP audience area?

Last time I went to Glastonbury there was no walkway - so I'm intrigued as to when it was introduced and why.

Nobody?

I was hoping someone from here would have gone this year and know.

dont know about Glastonbury but they do it at T in the park to prevent crushing at the front, if you want to go to the front you go that way, if you arent fussed you stay back once it is full they shut it off with security.

That all makes sense - I'm sure Glasto will be the same. Thanks.
