France march on. Them and Germany should be a great battle.

Iceland have had a great tournament. Them and their fans have been superb.

Those criticising the French defence need to consider a Jerome Boateng led German defence minus Mats Hummels who is suspended, at the other end of the field.

France ruthless in that first half but it was good to see Iceland claw it back a tad in the second.

That French defence is lightweight, though. I expect to see the Germans exploit that.

Not really,
Khedira is injured, Schweinsteiger is injured and for Gomez the tournament is over. That plus the yellow card against Boateng. Germany seem to have no chance.

germans defence is still better than the french defence even without hummels... but on home soil the french are almost invincible at major tournaments.

Antoine Griezmann is on top of the Golden boot stats with four

I dont think he will beat Michel Platinis record of nine

How did he score nine in one championship i dont know

I can see him scoring one more against Germany, France being knocked out, but him still ending up with the Golden Boot.

Bet him to be top scorer at 7/1 so hopefully he gets a couple more 6 is normally the average top scorer number

No Schweinsteiger, Khedira, Gomez or Hummels then. I guess they'll revert back to 4231.

...............Neuer............
.....Boateng.....Howedes.....
Kimmich.........................Hector
...........Kroos........Weigl or Can
Muller........Ozil.........Draxler
................Gotze (swapping position with either of the 3 behind).

I reckon they'll play like that.

The game brought up the goal average a bit.

Now stands at 2.15, better than Euro 96 incidentally, still worse than Italia 90 though (2.21). At least its above 2 though which otherwise would have been pretty disastrous.

Telling that he gets time in every game but Martial hasn't been seen since his woeful 45 minutes against Albania.

Really ?

Only Hummels is a massive miss for me tbh
They have Liverpool's Can to easily cover for Khedira and Gomez is no great loss , Draxler Or Gotze will presumably come in to the reckoning .

If I was French and they decided to play that team, I think I'd be pretty happy.

Yes, really. Gomez is currently Germany's top scorer, apparently Mueller can't find the goal in European championships, Goetze isn't doing very well at the moment, he hardly gets to play and is looking for a new club, I think
