Andy's 'Journey'

I think there was a turning point for Andy last night when he started to realise that although he would stand up for his principles and defend those he considers mates, even getting himself into trouble for doing so, that they would probably not do the same for him.

I found it very telling when he went up to Jayne later on, (after she had earlier advised him to just stay out of things, for the best) that he had taken that on board. The penny had definitely dropped, I believe.

So although I dislike the expression of people 'going on a journey' in BB, I definitely think Andy is learning a few life lessons at the moment?

He's a trained and experienced journalist and has been standing up for his principles for years.

Yes, but there is a vulnerability about him, and I could sense some disappointment in Andy last night when he realised that possibly Jason (and to a lesser extent Chelsea) wouldn't stand up and be counted for him, as he would probably do for them if he felt they were being wronged.

I love the way Andy keeps telling BB in the DR that he's not being sneaky and a trouble maker - like he's trying to convince them.

He is sensitive.

I like the path he is on....he is true to himself. He may modify his behavior (I don't want him to) in this setting (BB) because he is tired of being picked on.

He's pretentious. Don't confuse it with sensitivity.

This Forum is for each FM to express their views and have respect for the views of other FMs

I had no idea that using the word 'pretentious' demands a trigger warning. How, exactly, is challenging a statement with a counter-statement, disrespectful?

I'm with you. You merely have a difference of opinion and we know that's allowed.

Just like his nocturnal 'conversations' with Elizabeth 1, his sensitivity is an affect. He presents himself as the resident intellectual - sneers at his inferior housemates & then complains about feeling victimized.

The countless times he has berated other housemates in the DR over their conversation topics?

He knows full well the DR is a platform to speak to the viewers at home, that's why since the beginning he seems to go off on a tangent about his day in the house.
