I think this topic lies somewhere between the phone and tablet forum but I am posting it here as there seems to be more about audiobook type stuff here which is really the key part.

I have a nexus 5 phone and I have been using MortPlayer to play my audiobooks. I recently bought a OTG flash drive to plug into it so I can store all my books on it as they wont fit on my phone.

The problem is MortPlayer cannot see the drive - it only finds books that are actually stored on the phone.

Does anyone know of a different audiobook player which will be able to see books on the flashdrive?

I have found LVC app which sees it but there is no real functionality apart from play/pause/stop.

Thanks for any help and for reading.

I did download that but it only sees internal storage - it cant read the flash drive.

Someone has suggested I try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...mount&hl=en_GB - i will give it a go.

The description of the well regarded VLC Player suggests it may be able to play from USB...

Thank you - I did try VLC and it does work but it has none of the nice audiobook functionality like sleep options and moving onto the next chapter .

One of the audiobook developers (listen audiobook) is being brilliant and trying to get his app to work with OTG drives.

I have used Akimbo player for many years, almost daily and has served me well.

But Smart Audiobook Player is great.
You can easily select a root folder, all my audiobooks sit on my mini sd card in a folder called audiobooks, so its just settings> Root folder and then go to your sd card and select the folder and it brings in only those in that folder to the app.
