Nexus 5 USB OTG use

Help requested please!

I have purchased a lovely 64Gb USB OTG flashdrive to store audio books on as I like to listen a lot and my phone has little storage.

Very annoyingly I cannot find an audiobook app which can see the new drive - they all only look at internal storage for audiobooks.

My only workaround is to store everything on the drive and copy them over to the phone one at a time as I listen to them but that is a real pain. The whole point was to have lots of books at the click of a button.

I have made a feature request to the audiobook developer but in the meantime does anyone else have any ideas of how I can make my drive visible?

Thanks for reading.

You need a USB OTG app, plus the phone may not be able to supply enough power to an external hard drive.
I used this on my nexus 5 ( before it died) https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...mount&hl=en_GB other /similar apps are available

Thanks for this - I will try it out when I get home tonight. I managed to find a workaround by using a USB OTG app which allows me to move files to/from the drive and internal storage. This kinda works but it means I have to keep moving stuff around. I will try your way to see what happens.

Interesting about the power though - my phone normally lasts a couple of days but there was one day recently when it nearly ran out - I suspect that is the day I spent trying to get the flash drive to work. If that is the case then my drive will be useless as I cannot charge it when I'm using the drive!
