H2 HD is on Virgin but bizarrely History HD is not, but I presume iH2 HD is also on Sky. It and Eden HD are very welcome additions. Now just add Discovery Science and I will be totally satisfied.

It's good to see H2 HD on BT TV as I'm not sure if there is an H2 HD version on Sky.
Hope more improvements are made to BT TV and Youview in the run up to Christmas.

Darren
Yes - bizarrely not on Sky!

Of the 4 new HD channels I can only see Dave HD. The other 3 say my subscription isn't valid yet I have Total Entertainment. Any idea why?

That seems strange if you activated one new HD channel you should get the other new HD channels as well.
I'm on Entertainment Max package and get all the HD channels that BT TV offer.

That is strange as there is no subscription that distinguishes between those three HD channels and the other 'Entertainment' HD channels.

I have Entertainment Plus and the HD Pack. Just activated on Dave HD and the other three new channels then just worked.

Try turning the box off, on again and then retry one of the three channels that didn't work.

Tried powering up again but that made no difference. I'll have to call BT to see what's going on when I get time later.

Martin, just to confirm mine is exactly the same so not just an anomaly for you.

Just as a side note when those 3 channels turned up on SD it took a while before my subscription allowed me to view them (Dave of course is just a HD variant of a FTA (No extra channel subscription required) channel so possibly why it just works).
I am on an old variant of the Entertainment package so I suppose that is why.
Can any one on the 'Total Entertainment' package confirm they are working for them.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll wait to see if there are others that come forward with more information.

I'm still having same problem. Was on phone for nearly two hours yesterday trying to sort it then. After being talked through a software update, a reset, a engineers reset and a retune they then insisted that I need an engineers visit. So far I'm refusing as it's just an inconvenience but they were most insistent. When pressed what an engineer would do if they visited they said am engineer would be able to do checks like signal checks. Was ridiculous.

Ture Movies is not on BT TV its on the Freeview part of Youview. Also if you cant get the local mux for your area or in my case get a weak local mux signal you will not get the channel.

I only needed to activate one of the new HD channels and the rest became available. I feel sorry for those having problems.

H2 HD channel was first on Virgin so was contracted to them for a time.
HISTORY HD as said is yet to come to mainland UK on Virgin even with many lists on forums like here of them to bring to the channel line up but has been name in testing again for the network as it on other Virgin network.

So BT TV has won her to bring both HD channels to it customers, may be a HISTORY +1 channel too.

For Channel list and Box software data click here.. http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showt...0#post84141300

As for other HD channels BT has done well in the last few months, but would like film channels in HD like Film4 HD and Sky too.

Now we need Sky 1 & Sky Living in SD + HD and them to bring back FOX SD & HD to make BT even better.

If only. I've been with BT for two weeks and was happy to see the new HD channels so early in my experience. To be unable to see most of them however is a large black mark against BT for me. That and the fact I ordered through a cash back site and the order hasn't been verified by them yet which was worth £155, a major incentive for me to come on board in the first place Hope this and the channels will sort itself in the next few days.

Holsy1982 - what a waste of time I hope that isn't what I'm going to have to eventually face.

As I and some others have said on here. I'm not to bothered if BT don't have the likes of Sky 1 or that. For that would mean far higher prices for BT TV.
I'm all for BT improving there TV service but not if it means have to end up playing the likes of Skys prices.

Alan does seem to forget that everything has a price. Putting Sky channels onto BT TV would increase the price to the user; the fee that Sky wanted from BT for them is undoubtedly the reason why negotiations failed.

As has been said, if you want Sky channels then Now TV is the answer in parallel with BT TV. No contract required - you can add and then stop subscription whenever you want.

I use it via a Chromecast and find it very handy - subscribed to the Entertainment channels just in order to watch GoT then stopped, and then have watched a few F1 races that weren't live on Channel 4.

Darren & Colin you are right that Sky channels would add some cost to a service , but I feel that BT TV could add them without adding costs to those who do not wish to have those channels on they box, by using the same system they have got now in having the likes of Sky 1 , Sky2, Sky 1 HD, Sky Living, Sky Living HD, Sky News HD, Sky Arts, Sky Arts HD on different package to the main channels.

Remember that BT has different levels of TV packages now so another one would not hurt.

Also remember that Virgin, Now TV, Talk Talk all have sky channels now and some customers may like to have more Sky Sports channels like Sports 3,4,5 Mix F1 Sky sports news HQ and Sky Cinema HD too.

If no Sky then what other channels would you like BT to have ?

Film 4 HD ?

Now tv is owned by Sky, talktalk is not seen as competition by sky so maybe offered them favourable rates. Virgin wad a massive long saga around 10 years ago and at one point sky was withdrawn from Virgin because they could not agree on price and it took Virgin to relinquish some of their channel portfolio to get sky back.

Sky see BT as serious compeition and don't like how BT have unilaterally just added channels to sky and wont do a wholesale deal.

Other channels id like? Would like fox back but probably won't happen. Itv 2, 3, 4 Encore in HD. Also E4, More 4, Film 4 in HD, the children's channels in hd. Discovery science and Discovery History. Pbs america. Maybe some more music channels but thats it.

I think if you avoid channels owned by sky then costs can stay down. Sky seem to have spread cost of their sky sports rights across all the channels they own so regardless if you have sky sports or not your paying for it.

Good news is I tried the 3 channels tonight and they now work. So looks like a little waiting and patience was all that was needed.
