Gregg Wallace Blames Aliona For His Early Strictly Exit
Gregg Wallace apparently blames Aliona for his early Strictly exit because she apparently didn't like him:

No matter how much they paid Aliona to dance with him it wasn't enough, just looking at him makes me want to shower in bleach
and as for the not wearing underwear business that he claimed back then - revolting just revolting.

I would agree that Aliona didn't exactly love Greg Wallace but I can't really blame her - he was a disgusting letch. |

I've always thought that Greg Wallace was a complete and utter t**t, and Ive never seen any evidence to change that view.

Bottom line, he just wasn't any good. Strictly cast lists are littered with pro's and celebs who didn't get on (*coughBrendancoughLulucough*) who manage to last quite a few weeks. Someone has to be first out

The deep irony of this is that Greg did not seem to like Aliona much when paired with her! I recall he looked disappointed. So pot, kettle, black comes to mind.

Quite!I suspect that no matter which pro Gregg was partnered with, he was scheduled to be out at the first opportunity. Aliona was totally different with Gregg at the start than she was with any other celeb. There will have been a reason for that. Aliona having established the starting rules, Gregg did work to earn respect from Aliona and I think he made some progress at that. This was just something to deal with - not a major problem. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WTt_CvWOX4g |

I'm in 2 minds its not her fault that people didn't vote for him but what could be her fault is that she didn't choregoaph routines that would get him to stay for a while and get further up the leaderboard, Gregg can only do the choreography that she gave him

Gregg very much couldn't do the choreography she gave him.

It obviously hurt his pride a bit that the public didn't vote for him. I barely remember him on the show but it's not like he would ever have been a contender.

He was equal second from bottom on the leader board ... and just one point above Judy at dead last. Given all the factors working against him (before you factor in an Aliona
) - age, ability, natural talent, the fact that he didn't come across terribly well - I'd be interested to know where he thinks he should have finished.(And how many times have celebs played the 'I love dancing, me' card when what they mean is they can get through YMCA without crippling the person next to them not an actual latin or ballroom routine with actual steps?) |

He seemed almost certainly early/first boot from the outset. He talked a lot in his 2 weeks about how terrifying he found performing live. Aliona seemed initially surprised and then very supportive trying to help him overcome his nerves
When he was out he said he would miss being with the whole gang but he was glad he would not be doing live TV again At the time I thought, OK maybe he is exaggerating a little to keep some pride, but fine. It was a good first boot, he tried did not like it and kept some dignity This just comes over a petulant and childish |

He was a crap dancer - and didn't help his own cause by going on holiday in the initial training weeks and not putting in the hours he needed.
I don't think he would have fared any better with another pro - check out their faces when it was announced that Aliona had the short straw....... Relief doesn't begin to describe it! |

There's one every year who thinks that because they know all the actions to Wig Wam Bam and can reach the end of the track without having an asthma attack, they can dance. Seems like he was the one for that series.

I think if Greg had been the most talented celeb on the show, and Aliona adored him, he still would have been out first. Reason? Public didn't like him and didn't want to vote for him.

God, he's still hurting, isn't he?
I suppose that he thought he was going to be what Hairy Biker was in the previous series; the food related TV personality who knew full well he was bad but believed the public vote would carry him till around mid series. However, some people come on this show with too much baggage, some good, some bad. In his case, he had had too much negative press prior to the show and he didn't exactly behave in a way that could disprove the negative press and image that he already had. Also, Dave and Karen had a good partnership and I really think Karen did her best for him, contrary to Aliona who was clearly petrified/disgusted/not arsed (delete as appropriate) from the moment they were paired. It was just a combination of unfortunate things, and so he went out first. |
