Apparently Katie Derham was told someone would be consistently taken down on the show when she agreed to sign up for Strictly and last year it was her:

I can't open the link. Is this about her birthday being hijacked on Twitter?

Poor Katie, yet another deluded celeb (although her pro partner didn't help her cause).

Katie was "picked on" by CRH?

He may have said some harsh things to her, but he said far worse to others.

Is it ex-Strictly celeb victim mentality week or something? What with this and the undelightful Greg Wallace, the whinge cup overfloweth ...

I haven't read the RT piece but based on the DS article quoting from it she's talking about the likes of Amanda Platell (who she quotes) and Allison Pearson (who wrote a spectacularly nasty piece because she had the temerity to get into the final over Anita) rather than Craig. The stuff about Craig isn't in quotes as being from Katie herself, it reads as spin.

If someone has read the actual original article and can chip in to correct?

Yes you're right.
Kate McKenzie, the RT interviewer, uses CRH's remark "permanently looking as if she is at finishing school" as a contrast to her opinion of KD when she met her saying that "She is uncontrived good fun" .
It is actually KD's (16 yr old) daughter who called AP's comments sexist. KD says about the articles and negative press, "I can't say I wasn't warned - I was told by people on the show that the coverage would be hugely positive, and then, if you're still in the competition, somebody will be chosen and that person will be taken down . That someone just happened to be me."
So she's just describing the classic tall poppy syndrome that the British press (and the DM in particular) enjoy and practise so well.
The article didn't come across as KD being whingey, just a disappointed acknowledgement of how the press works in the UK.

In which case, my apologies to her - totally agree with that assessment of the British press!
