No, Ray gave up competing mainly because of his acting commitments at that time and he then did all his school exams and then went into X Facto4 at 18/19
Height wise as long as you have a suitable height partner not an issue in competing as a rule of thumb (but not always the case) you see tall couples more in ballroom and latin wise couples tend to be more compact (though there are exceptions)

Nice to see Gio out with the strictly crew. Like you say it's important for bonding as they will spend a heck of a lot of time with each other. I don't think Georgia would expect to be there! The nature of the show is that they do spend time socialising, so Gio is going to be out a lot (even though we all know who he would like to be by his side)

Re : AJ and Chloe they have been dancing since they were 11/12 so I think they are more like brother and sister !
In all the interviews I have read Chloe is very quick to say they are not a couple except on the dance floor.

But the funeral episode continues tonight (funeral has happened but tonight is a continuation from Monday's episodes into the wake ect) and there's been a clip, going around on Twitter, of a particularly awful scene where the husband collapses onto the grave and I have a terrible feeling it might be tonight's episode

Yes, I agree with you here. As you say last year was effectively decided by week 3 (if not before!) and whilst I'm not putting down Jay's clear dancing ability, it was, in a way, quite boringly predictable. Saying that, I wouldn't have been complaining if it had been GG destined to win from week three, but alas, twas not to be!
Here's a question - if Jay hadn't been in the competition last year, do we think Georgia would've won? I think our main competition would have been Mr 'I'm too sexy for my shirt' Savchenko judging especially by the tour results. It would've been a tight run thing I think!
Re Anton last year - as Katie (and arguably Anton as well!) was considerably weaker at Latin than ballroom they seemed to structure it in such a way whereby she got all of her weaker Latin dances out the way towards the start (i.e. when there was still much weaker contestants than her still in the show who were likely to get voted off) and left her stronger ballroom dances to the end. As you say, quite possibly a deliberate ploy to get Mr. Du Beke to the final!
Humph!! Just another reason for GG to get on with it - I'm warning them my brain can't cope with too many more not-an-engagement rings!

As you say last year was effectively decided by week 3 (if not before!) and whilst I'm not putting down Jay's clear dancing ability, it was, in a way, quite boringly predictable. Saying that, I wouldn't have been complaining if it had been GG destined to win from week three, but alas, twas not to be!
Here's a question - if Jay hadn't been in the competition last year, do we think Georgia would've won? I think our main competition would have been Mr 'I'm too sexy for my shirt' Savchenko judging especially by the tour results. It would've been a tight run thing I think!

Re Anton last year - as Katie (and arguably Anton as well!) was considerably weaker at Latin than ballroom they seemed to structure it in such a way whereby she got all of her weaker Latin dances out the way towards the start (i.e. when there was still much weaker contestants than her still in the show who were likely to get voted off) and left her stronger ballroom dances to the end. As you say, quite possibly a deliberate ploy to get Mr. Du Beke to the final!

He was amazing on DOI wish it was still on. Would love to see Matt Evers on SCD as well .
Last series for me was the best in years probably since the 2010/11 series in terms of it was a nice series where everyone got on, the atmosphere among the celebs and dancers was relaxed.
But yes the final was a foregone conclusion, however usually you do know who is going to win going into the final. The only year I didn't know was 2013.
I sort of hope for this series that there are 2/3 male contenders and looking at some the rumoured names perhaps there will be. Just so there is a bit of balance and if it happens one guy does not get all the support. I have supported both males and females in the past and hope for a special partnership to support. They don't happen every year.

Err well the rough deadline was kind of a week ago
- but people have been busy and away on holiday so there's no rush to get the answers in - I've only had about a half/ two thirds of the 'usual' entries in so far!
