Sorry I have not been around but I have been watching the Olympics. However I know that Will Young has been signed up for Strictly. He probably is a potential finalist as he has a strong stage background as well as contemporary dance. I wouldn't mind seeing him with Jo, Natalie or perhaps Katya. He also has won a reality show.

Hopefully some female celebs will soon be announced.

Wish they wouldn't drag the announcements out. Two a day would be good. For some reason can't seem to get into the Olympics this time round 🙄

My favourires from the current Fail article are the ones calling her a nasty piece of work for the recent little 'scariest feet' quip on Twitter, a comment that could only be found by reading her twitter pages!!
The basic gist was "she's a nasty piece of work making cruel comments about this woman, what if the woman were to read them!!"
The irony is delicious, though I doubt any of them would recognise it if it bit them on the a*se!!

thank you, Lozzer, for all your hard work, I fell asleep watching tennis at the Olympics and have just woken up and found the last part. The question about Michelle Keegan was a strange one indeed. As for her going to either America or Australia they do have DWTS in both countries so Gio would also be able to work there.

Ok maybe it's time to reveal my lifelong secret......

I went away and thought about that interview (while watching weight lifting actually - it is quite amazing what bizarre sports you watch while the Olympics are on) and decided her Agent must have had a controlling hand that day.
I can see what their aim was - they want Georgia to be seen for what she so obviously is, a great new young talent at the beginning of a good career in TV and theatre.
They are perhaps trying to distance her from the sort of media that Michelle Keegan gets - I don't know much about Michelle except she is married to Mark Wright and I see the state their marriage is a source of constant comment !
While not endorsing the firm belief of a couple of our friends on the main frame that only couples who keep their relationships secret are in fact really in a relationship - bizarre idea it has to be said, I do think constant lurid tabloid speculation rather takes away the shine from an actors professional profile.
So her Agents are trying to distance her from soaps and reality TV,
... the last thing Georgia needs to be is another Michelle Keegan - she is the one and only Georgia May Foote.

So although most of us would have enjoyed a nice little sentence or two about her love life we have had a lot of evidence recently that it is fine and dandy - not to mention ad hoc wedding dress tweets !
So there was no need to discuss it in this interview although left to her own devices I am sure she would have talked about him a lot because he is so important to her - I only wish the interviewer had asked much deeper and interesting questions about her career and the sort of work she hoped to do in the future,
You can almost see the train of thought leading up to the will she mind Gio having a new partner questions - the Curse of Strictly stories are already being planned which is why I hope Gio doesn't get Laura Whitmore as a partner because that will send the tabloids into overdrive !

Please BBC let Gio get Louise Redknapp that would be very nice - thank you !

No new ones. The main picture of her is from the fashion award promo shoot wearing the pale blue flowery dress. Then there are lots of other little pics, one of her and Gio doing the cha cha cha, Georgia and Gio at the fashion awards, the 7 billion smiles Instagram pic, the pic with Jeremy vine having fish and chips, the pic with Georgia, Katie Derham, her husband and Aidan Turner at the BAFTAs, the Bridget Jones BT photo and unfortunately one of her and Sean.

I noticed that the picture of Georgia and Gio at the fashion event straddles the whole page and Georgia is looking particularly happy and smiley (and Gio is wearing a lovely shiny suit!) The one of Georgia and Sean is a small round picture next to it and is just by Gio's left foot (appropriate! ) The contrast between the two is quite marked since Georgia is definitely not looking as happy in the pic with her and Sean. Maybe whoever put the pictures together wanted to show how different Georgia looks in all the pics with her and Gio. We could have done without it though - Sean's ancient history now!

Laura Whitmore has just been confirmed on radio 1. Do we think she'll get Gio?

Yes, I totally agree Sandy. I think the rep incident in the interview was indicative of her desire to distance herself from those celebs who are in the tabloids every other day because of their relationships rather than work that they have been doing - a very sensible thing to do Miss Foote!


Never say never ... but I would doubt it.
She surely has to be considered one of the favourites to go all the way, just as Georgia would've been last year, she'll probably be about the youngest, just as Georgia was last year - so because of those similarities I would say it's unlikely that they'll pair them together. Saying that, it does occasionally happen where pros get one of the favourites twice in a row but I think it's unusual - yes, Kevin has been to the final three times but would Susanna and Kellie really have been considered favourites to get to the final? Probably not.

So my verdict is that it's unlikely, but it's essentially dependent on the weight which the producers give to projected abilities of partners when choosing pros year on year.

One reason that Georgia and Giovanni bonded so quickly was that Georgia was able to bring her TV knowledge in terms of camera positioning etc to Giovanni who did not have that experience. In some of their interviews she is clearly indicating and is aware of technical things to Gio and he is really listening to her. Anita did the same for Gleb but not as well.

I wonder if Laura's experience in TV would help this years new male dancer Gorka? I also wonder if the producers factor this in as they want the dancers to learn quickly about the technical side of TV.

You can see how Georgia and Giovanni used their knowledge to sell the Cha Cha Cha to the TV audience so incredibly well. Georgia is amazing with her connection to camera in this dance. This made up for the fact that the true Cha Cha steps were a little week in that dance from Georgia for many reasons.

I see Gorka is tweeting a welcome to the Whitmore. We will just have to see. I am sure there will be a few surprises to come. What does everyone think? alicia🤔👠💃

And I think that's a very good point you make there about the new pros and lack of technical TV knowledge - it could well be a factor.

I sometimes think they try to pair lighter haired people together purely for aesthetics - James and Ola got their fair share of blonde partners - Denise Van Outen, Vanessa Feltz, Robbie Savage, Iwan Thomas. So perhaps another one of the new pros, Neil Jones, is a possibility.

Looking at the Sun's headlines you'd think that Georgia was really negative about Strictly when she wasn't, she was after all there for a mobile phone campaign, so lots of references were made to staying in touch with people.

It definitely looks like she is wanting to move on professionally from Strictly, so I'm not getting my hopes up for a joint interview. If it is going to happen though it'd be very soon to promote BAT and SCD without distracting from Gio's potential new partner.

Ha, ha on Georgia's instagram photo of her and Gio there are the usual run of comments: there's always someone claiming that their friend looks exactly like her and one 'omg they're together' post. Just waiting now for the lady who always calls her Georgina for the hat trick.

Very insightful Alicia, think you are right. I remember Giovanni saying once how petrified he was of live TV at first. Quite a baptism of fire when you think about it, and adding in the language barrier too. He might be able to help Gorka settle in a bit too, as they come from a similar dance background and could already know each other.
