Evening everyone well I'm trying to catch up and have gone back 20 pages and that's only to last Friday. I have managed to read 10 of those pages so here goes with some replies
[quote=Sandy_Andrews;83459543]Will anyone be watching the Olympic Opening Ceremony tonight ? - I am quite excited about It.
I watched some of the opening ceremony and have enjoyed watching the diving this week. I think I would be a bit worried about the colour of the water if I was using the pools there now. I like some of the track & field events but my husband loves all of it so we keep jumping between channels

We got a cab from the train station and as we arrived I spotted three individuals walking along the road. I thought, they look familiar and then I realised I was looking at Giovanni and Jo! Thousands of people going to this event, what are the chances? As the taxi moved past I turned around and saw a petite brunette with plaits between them...had to be Georgia!
The event itself is a great day out. The dancing was superb and such a great chance to see Giovanni do what he does best of all, the Latin numbers. They did three dances throughout the afternoon, a salsa, cha cha and jive. All were fantastic, the salsa was my favourite I think, a brilliant upside down lift and fantastic batucadas towards the end *swoon* :blush The jive had everyone at the front up on their feet and then they did a salsa demo for everyone to join in. Jo led the instructions and Giovanni pretended to find some of it difficult! I made a very weak effort to join in!
Others have said it but Giovanni really is soooo handsome in the flesh. There are some lovely pictures of him of course but many don't really do him justice. Jo is lovely too and they are such charismatic performers together. I did spot Georgia lurking in the wings once or twice but she seemed like she didn't really want to be spotted. Perhaps she was still a bit hungover or just being mindful that it wasn't her gig. I wish we'd seen a bit more of her though.
I know you all want a GG photo and I can't oblige I'm afraid. I hope someone else can. I did keep my eyes peeled for a ninja-style GG detective stalking the perimeters (Nina?) but there seemed to be quite a few!! Lots of people with cameras and phones out and I've already seen much better photos and videos on Twitter than I managed to get. But I got a few pics so will try and upload them later. (I'm sure some people will have managed to get backstage at the end but we had to dash off to make our travel connections.)
The photo of G&G flaked out on the grass made me smile. That's exactly what me and the hubby did for about an hour while a brilliant Santana tribute band were playing. A rather less photogenic and more middle aged version, but the same position
So a really great day out, a privilege to see Gio and Jo dancing close up and I was so pleased I made the effort to drag myself there. My head hurts like hell but it was worth it. Looking forward to Nina's report and hope she had a great time too.

I'm back, finally - feeling a bit shattered but I've had a great day. I was due to go with a friend but she then said she couldn't go so I went on my own. I must say it's a very nice event and with lots of stalls to wander round selling all sorts of things apart from chilli related items. I got some gorgeous chocolate which I will try not to eat all at once and a big caribbean rum cake which I will take to the conservation group that volunteer for on a Monday for our morning tea break.
Anyway the highlight of the day was, of course, seeing Gio and Jo dancing. They did three sets over the afternoon, firstly a Samba, then a cha cha and then a jive. Lovely to see them all particularly the jive which I think they have done before at various events. The speed of it is just tremendous and I like the way they add a bit of humour into it. As I thought when I saw them in the Proms they are a great partnership and really fit well together. I should tell you that at the start of the cha cha when I went up near the front I swear Gio smiled at me and my ovaries felt ready to explode!! Not good at my time of life!! As Daisy says they did a mass Salsa lesson at the end which was fun and I actually joined in! Jo was very good at getting people in the audience going - you can see what a great teacher she is!
I first saw Georgia lurking at the back before the start of the samba. I recognised her first by her earrings, then I saw Gio put his arm around her and so I thought it must be her! After the cha cha I was just about to take a picture of the two of them when the battery on my camera died.
The stupid thing was fully charged this morning but then suddenly died. By the time I had got my phone out they had disappeared.
I did take one or two pictures and a short video of the samba but the pics are not very good since they are a bit out of focus. Stupidly I took my small camera with me and didn't think about it being very difficult to see what you are taking since the light was so bright. I also took a few on my phone but that was even worse although unexpectedly I managed to get a good shot of Georgia. That could be a special one for NDD!! Georgia seemed to want to stay in the background and waited very patiently backstage while various people took pics with Gio and Jo. I think we can safely say that all is well in GG land! Love that picture that Jo tweeted.
When I got back to Chichester station I went to the ladies loo and as I came out I saw the three of them on the platform! I was wondering whether to go and speak to them when the train to Brighton came in and they all got on. This weekend is the Brighton Pride and they were probably going there for the tail end of the festivities. I suppose if I was a real GG obsessive I would have got on the train and stalked them all evening!! However, by then I just wanted to get home so I caught the London bound train to Croydon which was very crowded.
Anyway, it was a great day, made even greater by seeing G&J. How lucky am I to have seen them live twice in the past three weeks - I would happily see all the dances again and again and again..............Sorry about the photo fail, I will try to upload what I have.
Hope you are feeling better soon Daisy!
