Think it was Giovanni's decision to part but can't for the life of me think why.

Do you think that maybe the tour had something to do with it. Like Gio wanting to do it a) for the money and b) for the publicity it would bring him re other jobs like Donagheys or maybe even his own show and Georgia not wanting him to do it because they would have hardly seen each other. Just a thought.

I can't see the tour being even on the agenda now as a discussion issue between him and Georgia. Only 7 (of the 17!) pros will go on tour, or 8 at most. Whilst Anton, Brendan and Pasha don't do it - there is no guarantee who will - it will probably depend on which celebrities do it. I doubt that was even on his and Georgia's radar at the moment - and it's only 4 weeks anyway, with 1 in London

I agree that 'new journey' ain't the best choice of words. But I must say, he doesn't look particularly excited in that picture - he looks sad and drawn. I'm sure his show face will be on by the time of filming tomorrow, as it should be

I've been with a Greek for over 20 years, and have lived abroad for more than ten so I'm very aware of nuances and problems with translations. But imo, Giovanni even with English as a second language understands what 'new journey' means. And imo, it is insensitive at the very least. I appreciate you may see it differently.

So whatever the reasons for the split, I would like to see Gio be given a bit of slack because I genuinely believe this is a painful time for him as well as Georgia even if I don't understand their decision.

I really want to agree with you Sandy but It may take longer if it is to happen.
They are very young though and have bright professional futures ahead of them both and they do need to focus on that. I feel particularly that Giovanni needs to establish his career / persona in his own right. My impression is that to the non-Strictly world he is (or was) primarily seen as Georgia's dancer boyfriend which might not sit well with him. Maybe after BAT and Strictly they when they have a bit of time to reflect they might quietly give it another go. I suppose that depends on where they both are both professionally and geographically. They went through such a journey together that even a new one now for him won't match in terms of intensity and emotion. That was partly due to Georgia's difficult domestic life as well as their incredible chemistry. He needs to throw himself into Strictly and being the professional he is I'm certain he will. As others have said he is emotionally strong and years of competing have made him resolute and determined whereas I feel Georgia is not nearly as battle hardened. My main concern for her though is that it doesn't seem that she has ever been single or lived on her own and I hope the people around her will give her the support and confidence to be single and experience that for now whilst also throwing herself into her work.
