I appreciate Georgia and Giovanni so I plan to stay here . Most of us on here have agreed we'll still discuss them both, their careers and anything relating to them. I don't personally have any interest in discussing on a Laura thread!!

Just some random thoughts before I watch Strictly again to really take it in - but do you think Gio will like being called Georgia May Foote's ex in all the tabloids this weekend ?
As it is the Strictly launch Georgia has managed to get a lot of the headlines - if someone was master minding her publicity she couldn't have done better.
It is virtually all very favourable too especially featuring her nice tweets to Laura and Gio.

From what I have seen so far Gio looked a lot happier dancing with Anastacia - I think the BBC were too clever for their own good going for the cheap tabloid headlines - i think a Gio/Anastacia partnership would have added some really great moments to the series that was evident even in that opening dance.
I can't see the Gio/Laura partnership doing the same as it will be difficult to manage their lack of height difference especially in Ballroom,

I thought Ed did well - Yvette was killing herself laughing in the audience.
I love Will - so does Karen obviously.
Kevin will more than likely make the finals again with Louise.
I think Jo and Ore might end up being my faves.
Greg and Nat looked thrilled.
... and I liked Tameka more than I thought I would, she is really genuinely funny.
So I am glued for another series.

However I wish we could wave a magic wand and go back to last year because there will definitely be no magic like GG produced.

Yes I saw that too. I wonder if there was a lot of tension caused by the press and social media which they were all aware of and not necessarily tension between Gio and Laura. Maybe that's what she was referring to by drama and Gio responding to say it's sad that its overshadowed things. i don't know it's just a guess

I've just read it again and it think it's a private joke saying she makes him sad when it's obvious with her personality that's she probably had them laughing their socks off.
I don't know who she is as i've never seen her until this evening. She seems funny.

Yes NDD I think you've summed it up pretty well. It's hard to judge the chemistry at this point though because of the focus on them. If they had their arms around each other people would say something and now they've stood apart we think there's no chemistry.

Someone mentioned she's like marmite so we'll have to wait and see.
I don't feel one bit sorry for her. She's had all this focus on her before the show started which is raising her profile. She is very confident indeed and definitely way more confident than Georgia was last year.

It's nice that they're tweeting each other as it makes it more civilised but remember they're acquaintances rather than best buddies. It's nice that she responded but then could you imagine if she didn't That would really give the tabloids something to talk about..

It must be hard for Gio because he'll never be able to recreate the experience he had with Georgia last year. The GG experience was unique and unplanned. Gio said in the final ITT that spending the past 5 months with Georgia were the best moments of his life. He said it with pure emotion from the heart.

Just popped in to say I feel really sorry for Laura to be put in this position in between her friend (acquaintance) Georgia and the BBC's choice Giovanni!!! No chemistry whatsoever and I've looked at that pairing-up & chat with Claudia after and was hiding behind the cushion at how uneasy & awkward they looked. You can see Brendan & Gio looking at one another while Claudia is talking to Naga & Pasha as if to say - what???

In the group dance you could see Giovanni's chemistry with Anastacia was just bursting and Laura was with Brendan ... so BBC well done. I just knew before the spoiler this would happen. I so love Georgia for that tweet and disappointed in Giovanni for not either retweeting/liking it or even to just say thank-you! He is really a Me, Myself & I person and each day I am not liking him even more - sorry!!!

I think Laura is the Peter Andre of the last series here. I just hope in dance-offs, if G&L are there, to a better dancing couple (as in Blackpool last year with Andre) the judges ARE NOT TOLD who to vote off!! Before GG came on in Blackpool, viewed it back so often, the judges all talking away, esp Darcey, all the while whilst GG were being introduced......I just wish I didn't have to pay my TV licence to the bl**dy BBC - stinks!

I have X-Factor recorded..at least Dermot is back with Sharon and enjoyed it last week so will watch tomorrow. At last Cowell has fixed what shouldn't have been broken! Right, rant over.... Nite!

Peter Andre was unfairly vilified on this forum last year, I felt. He couldn't smile or say a word without a chorus of condemnation. His fabulous Charleston was barely acknowledged. Hope no one is singled out this year...

She was always a massive supporter of Georgia & Giovanni so I'm taking it with a pinch of salt! Still pissed off with this pairing.

Sorry Lewis I'm not interested in joining the new thread either. I agree with Christopher and Dee. I still love Gio but that does not mean he automatically gets my support and votes for his new partnership. There are at least 3 other couples that I like more. But at this point can't see myself posting on any other thread but this one. If I'm feeling brave I may post on the main one now and again.

It's so obvious that it had been the original plan. Even watching Giovanni's face when she came out and then was paired with Brendan. I've seriously taken my bat & ball home. My seven year old daughter is equally sad 😓 I actually feel a tiny bit sorry for him because even though he had his 'show face' on you could tell he was struggling and then they go and do that. His face to me says it all!!! I've been looking at the photos of when he got paired up with Georgia........ wow still takes my breath away how he looked at her.

I feel sorry for GG and Laura. All the BBC cares about his headlines, a complete disregard for the people involved. The media scrutiny is just going to go on and on. I can't see Gio and Laura getting involved despite great manipulation by the BBC.

Kristina has probably been told to say that, it would be in the tabloids interests if a "romance" did happen because then they could trot out the curse stories.

I'm 50/50 not ruling it out because spending so much time together in the training rooms can produce intense feelings, we have seen that happen before. However they would be foolish for it to happen, so I hope it remains professional. Unless Laura is brilliant I'm not sure where their votes will come from.

So do I. For Laura it will tarnish her Strictly being stuck in the middle with all this bad press and got GG who are obviously struggling with a break up. He liked someone's tweet last night where someone said something like a break up sucks enough without all this press GG are getting. My answer to him would be blame your bosses. They are playing with people's lives here just disgusting. I have no doubt in my mind that nothing will happen between these two. He's still in love with Georgia just wish they could both try and see sense.

From what I can see they seem like two people who live in completely different worlds and I don't think they would be compatible anyway.
I would also like to think Gio would not be wanting to jump to another serious relationship so soon either. We shall see.

I don't think she owes any favours to the BBC so I doubt she's been told to they've just probably twisted it. I agree that they will spend so much time together that a romance COULD happen but I doubt very much. I honestly have no idea where their votes will come from either as if you look at the feedback on Twitter people are up in arms. I don't think she's well liked. I'm sure she's very nice but she comes across as overly confident and a bit in love with herself. This is a popularity contest so time will tell. Maybe people will end up loving them together!

He's too stubborn. I hope in private they are communicating as Georgia's tweet last night was lovely. The fact he can't sleep means he's got a lot on his mind. I think he's unliked the picture of Miss Durham. I wonder what he's going to do for his birthday tomorrow?

I fear unless she is really good she could be another jamelia in the dance off most weeks. She is not really that high profile to have a large fanbase. Ed balls looks to me like he will be the first to go. Lesley and Anton could stay in a good few weeks. Most of the men seem to be likeable fun characters who seem to be able to dance except not sure about Greg Rutherford or Danny Mac yet but they could have good fanbases.

Not sure whether daisy looks if she will be any good yet. Tameka will do well I think as will Louise. Reserve jugement on naga but unless rubbish she will be kept in a while.
