Re Gio losing his fan base. There's only actually a few of us on here and a few people on twitter who really care that much! Most people wouldn't really have realised that he was even with Georgia, or if they did, wouldn't care about why they split up.

Even before the split, a lot of people on here said that they wouldn't vote for him anyway, with a new partner, so it doesn't make much difference in that respect.

Popularity tends to come about based on the celebs and the pairings. Do I think that Laura and Gio will be a popular pairing? Not particularly, but not really because of Georgia though. I just think that they won't really capture the general audience's attention in the way that others will. They might do quite well though, if she can dance - but I very much doubt they'll win it - and that would be the same irrespective of whether he and Georgia were still together or not.

Hi wick, I know I'm all over the place with his behaviour over the split ! One minute I'm impressed next I'm annoyed at him ! The problem for me is I don't know how sincere he is being when he does contact her on social media ( which is hardly ever ) it's just my opinion. I really need to get over this and move on .

I tend to agree with a lot of things you say wicks!! I really doubt gios fan base will be affected by what's gone on with Georgia! And why should it, we really have no idea of what happened, why it happened and what things are like between them both now!! I think it was lovely of Gio to wish Georgia luck today- my favourite part was that he #pocketrocket as it kind of shows me he still supports her and obviously wants her to be so successful! And I believe Georgia feels the same way about him!!

Regarding Laura and Gio , I am still reserving judgement- but yes unfortunately I think there will be quite a few other couples who will be much more popular- but hey who can say until the competition actually gets going! I wish Gio and Laura all the best but probably won't make up my mind fully on who to support for 2 or 3 weeks!

Last year as much as I loved their jive it wasn't until GG's week 3 rumba when I finally sat up and realised how amazing their dance chemistry was and the rest as they say is history!!

One things for sure is I won't be becoming invested in a couple this year it is far too stressful 😳 I will just enjoy the show for what it is and I am actually quite excited for it to begin now

But I reckon there must have been reservations about the whole relationship for a while - and if it had been a month or maybe even 2/3 weeks earlier it would've been much better, rather than 3 weeks before it ... but as you say it could've been even worse!!

Wicks I agree with you. I'm glad that he did tweet Georgia and I hope they are still speaking in private to eachother. Gio has never been such a big user of social media. I don't blame him english is not his first language and everything he puts down is being scutinized (of which I'm guilty!).

First steps are out...it's stil a meh from me, that's all I can say about them as a partnership....meh.
It also says they are dancing on the Friday night.

Frankly I have no intention of trying to analyse where Gio's good luck message came from or whether it was prompted by someone else, I'm just delighted he has sent it & the little #PocketRocket showed an affection that he didn't need to show but has which also delights me & not because I'm reading anything into any of it I just think it's a nice little touch as is the x behind Georgia's thanks!!

Until it starts on friday I have absolutely no idea who I'll be supporting in Strictly this year, apart from Jo as I loved her from her Scott Mills partnership, before we even knew she had anything to do with Gio & became friends with Georgia!!
I'm looking forward to watching without the added pressure of being way too invested as I was last year!!

Do you know what Wicks your right! In my eyes he can't win on this one for me and Georgia 'blunt' reply says it all. Just my opinion but I believe he's been promoted to wish her luck doesn't mean I'm right! I just can't shake the feeling that he hasn't treated her too well lately. Again, how would I know this? Just a total guess!
