Sad to see Gorka and Tameka go. What lovely emotional words from Tameka. Gorka is a sweetheart. I'm glad Gio and Laura are staying longer but sad we won't see Gorka and Tameka next week.

Wow didn't see that coming! Giovanni looked annoyed. Don't blame him really. They weren't the best but they weren't the worst. This is purely down to bad press. Not fair really.

Neither of them should have been in the dance off- I am not totally surprised though! I too am gutted about the loss of gorka 😨

To be honest there are so many good couples this year it's hard to stand out. I split my three free votes as I couldn't decide who were my favourites. I'm sure they will be fine next week as they will get bounce-back votes.

I think it's probably more down to whAt fans they all have rather than bad press. I can't imagine many of Laura's fans maybe watching strictly whereas everyone is loving ed, Lesley, and judge rinder. Naga probably has a lot of viewers who vote who watch breakfast tv. Surprised at tameka though with EE vote but saying that kellie ended up in the dance off last year as well.

I agree. The standard is high! Not sure what she has for next week. Probably a nice ballroom number which she seems to be more comfortable with.

I doubt whether the press had anything to do with it Islapops - they were in a dangerous position in the middle of the leader board.
People were predicting on the main frame last night that both of these couples, especially 'Lavanni'. would be in the DO - as people often vote for the couples with the lowest marks apparently - and I think both Ed and Lesley would have a lot of support .
I have no idea who would vote for Naga

There were so many stand out dances last night and so many couples are very popular that any pair who didn't really wow were in trouble.

But don't worry people usually get a lot more votes the week after they were in the DO and as 'Lavanni' are due a ballroom dance they should be fine next week.

Yes, I think that's right. I doubt very much that it's down to either a) pre-existing fans as that rarely has any bearing on Strictly or b) any press issues - but there were so many good people above them and almost everyone below them was a crowd-pleaser (Ed, Judge Rinder etc) - EXCEPT Naga - I really can't understand how she managed to avoid the dance off. Anastacia will have got the bounce from last week, which Laura will hopefully get next week. It was the classic mid table danger zone which so many have fallen foul of in the past.

Enjoyed the pro dance at the start. Poor old Gio always gets cast as the lowly servant character - in the pro dance at Blackpool he was the kitchen hand. Loved Aljaz being all dismissive! The dance was great fun - and nice to see Gio and Jo dancing together as they've been mixing partners up a lot more this year.

I don't think it's down to the press. This year is a very strange one, There are so many celebs who are above the level of dancing that the celebs are usually at in week 3 plus a few celebs who are entertaining with big personalities and can dance like Ed and Judge Rinder so if you have an unmemorable dance/theme which i think Gio and Laura and Tameka and Gorka did, I think they got a bit lost in the mix in a very strong week. This series is so hard you really need to wow every week. I also think they'll be a few 'shock' dance offs as this year is very hard to call. Naga was very lucky to avoid that dance off this week.

I've never had so many couples that i really like, i struggle to decide who i give my votes to.

Neither couple deserved to be in the dance off. I think Laura and Gio will be ok if they have a ballroom number next week plus people will make sure they vote for them if they really like them after this weeks dance off.

For goodness sake we can't lose Gio just yet as well as Gorka!!

I'm on the same page as you.... where are the votes coming from for Naga?? I don't know where the main forum is to have a nose on what people's thoughts are but I guess they were at risk being in the bottom half of to leader board. Did you think Giovanni looked annoyed Sandy?

I honestly thought naga would be there for sure! Gosh! The thought of losing Gio & Gorka! Too much to bear to be honest.

I thought he looked very worried and then very relieved! Must be horrible to go out so early. I feel for Tameka and Gorka

Emotional as well! Had a lump in my throat for him. So sad for Tameka. I know she's not everyone's cup of tea but I loved her.

L and G were mid-table on the leader board, a leader board with a couple of ties, it wasn't surprising that they hit the bottom two with a dance that didn't really stand out for the right or wrong reasons. I'm sure they wont be in it next week.

Having had a second look, I really don't that wig on Laura, it doesn't go with her blue eyes at all.

Absolutely gutted gorkas gone, his and tamekas partnership was so good that charleston last week was fab!! Gutted! Laura is the marmite of comp i think some people just cant take to her and i dont think she has a warm personality.....however there a still others that should have been in that dance off tonight not ed tho i am loving watching ed this year!! I think lauras routine just wasn't very wow yesterday and it didnt flow well so i dont think its anything to do with bad press?

I hope he already knows that his huge success in his first series had a great deal to do with having Georgia as his partner - if he doesn't now I think he will in the next few weeks.
He is a great teacher but Georgia had masses of natural talent plus she worked her socks off.
She was also instantly likeable - rather like Daisy is this year !

How's the head? We at PB Towers are sadly no longer bar fit. During a burst of over enthusiasm a while ago a friend and I (over the course of an evening) shared 3 bottles of wine, I was baggage for two days after that.
