Kathy - I think its not sinister. It is much more likely that the Breakfast at Tiffany's PR has firmly told Georgia not to mention Gio's name at all or refer to him even in the most mild and neutral way - because the newspapers will then turn the BAT publicity interview into another headline about either Strictly or her love life, neither of which shift tickets for BAT.
Georgia is simply being very professional and credit to her for that. It just takes one sentence from her which includes Gio's name.. and the purpose of the interview, which is BAT ticket sales, becomes totally lost.
Leading actors these days are measured on both critical reviews and their ability to be effective in promoting the play. Being effective = tickets sold.
