I would like to re-iterate what Brian said. No-one who posts on this thread regularly needs to prove their GG credentials. We've done this by our actions and support of both GG whether it's good luck wishes/messages/gifts or attending events including the proms/tour/chilli festival/Grimsby and BAT. Also the whole discussion about the cruise was hilarious especially when Collaw found that sat nav app so we were following them around ”

Exactly right Jammy & Brian!!

We may have scolded Gio (rightly or wrongly), questioned his sanity over losing Georgia, been less than complimentary about his new partner in some cases & disliked his 'likes' in women but I still think the majority of us have been pretty much supportive of him despite it all!!
None of us will ever know the entire set of circumstances behind the break up as none of us will get inside his mind & he's not one for leaving clues!!
It was pretty much inevitable after the split that thread members would take sides & reading between the lines most of us seem to have come down on Georgia's side but I have total respect for those like Kathy who are thinking differently!!
I still wish Gio the best of luck with Laura on Strictly & I particularly hope that they can do a proper full routine this weekend, but it was Georgia I fell utterly in love with from the off last year & it will be Georgia who retains the lion's share of my support as I think she has done very little wrong & very very much right since the split and shown that my initial first impressions of her as a lovely, grounded, down to earth gem of a girl who considers herself no different to her fans & who is prepared to work her a*se off to get where she wants to be were in fact far more accurate than I could ever have dreamed at the time!!

Well said Brian.

Andy - feel free to contribute positively to the Laura and Gio thread.

PS I responded to Sandy as I knew exactly what she meant as I also had watched ITT BUT if you had missed ITT, you could read the thread and think that 'Gio thinks he is guaranteed a ticket to the final'. Errrr..... probably NOT. So I added the 'voiceover' just for anyone who has more interesting things to do than watch ITT ”

Ahh k thanks for your comments! I'm sure gio knows how tough the competition is this year so I'm sure he knows it's going to be hard to get there! I haven't watched ITT yet so shouldn't really comment 😜😂

I am still a supporter Of both Georgia and Gio and I have even posted in the Laura and gio thread occasionally! But in a year where I enjoy 6 of the couples dances my overall favourite changes every week 😳 But I always want Laura and gio to do well

Lady L, I confess the first time you posted on here I had my doubts about you (to my discredit not yours ) but since I've seen so many more of your posts in both threads I think you are doing a sterling job in trying to keep our two threads united & friendly!!
Thanks for your continued contributions!!

Lozzer going to need your help - Georgia has posted in a Yorkshire accent herself with the sheep and deer app and herself as a scary man whose fangs grow and complains about the dodgy make up artist. Oh and a cherry 🍒 head! Georgia's make up artist is having fun too. She is in good spirits. All good. alicia🕸🕷🎃💕

I will say I supported Georgia & Giovanni and spent to my cost voting for them both to get to that final last year as many of us did.

I am not a fan of Laura hence not posting on that thread...and I have all Irish blood in me so its not that in case someone thinks it from over there!! I wouldn't wish ill on her and hope she dances, but to me too the spark has gone from Giovanni and I think like most we know the reason!! I won't say anymore about the ankle situation on here!!”

You do not need to shut up, Patti. This is a Georgia and Gio appreciation thread. No one has to appreciate Laura, or anyone else here. For example, me saying 'Georgia was robbed last year' can be translated as me not appreciating Jay - so what? This is not a Jay appreciation thread.
I am not mad keen on Laura or her partnership with Gio. I wish Gio had been partnered with Louise or Anastacia. That's not me appreciating Laura is it? But again, so what? I do not have to, in this thread.

If Andy wants to put his forum membership at risk by constantly coming onto an appreciation thread to snipe at it's members then so be it, but I would hate for this to turn into another closed thread because of something that isn't our fault!!
As tempting as it is to argue back I feel, given that we have already had one batch of comments deleted over this, it would be prudent to completely ignore the guy & not risk our thread as it seems pretty obvious to me what he is trying to do!!

Just my take on the matter!!”

I know I'm not a regular poster here (like Frankie Howerd I just lurk a lot) but I'm getting a wee bit uncomfortable with reading the constant reiterating of how Gio is too stupid to see what he has lost. Unless we were in the relationship, I can't see how we can know what he felt like then, or now.

Everyone loves Georgia, I get it, but can we not just talk about things they are doing without bringing the other one into it?”

To be honest that's why I left. The crap Gio gets from his 'appreciation' thread! Scusami, no ho peli sulla lingua; è pazzesco qui. Sono polorittazi ma nessuna io vede, tutti vuoi negati. Sta diventato noioso.

Hello Hobbit

Apologies if there was any confusion, I certainly don't suggest (nor do I think) that you do have an issue with how people talk about Laura in this thread.

I don't think Gio has been called 'stupid' on here, or anything insulting like that.

I have a very firm view about Gio, which for me is justified because it's based on ample evidence.

I appreciate that you would prefer if we could talk of them more as individual, rather than relating it to their 'split', but I would suggest that discussion of the 'split' is essentially unavoidable on here.

I've never watched Bake Off

But I see that someone's opted to see Georgia in BAT instead of watching Bake Off, and the #noregrets sounds like a very good endorsementof her and the production!

And there is also a rather large poster of her flying proudly next to the seafront seemingly - https://twitter.com/JasTownsend1972/...95599329042432

With iPlayer etc there is no need to cancel things because of TV programmes now is there ?
I can remember faking mystery coughs and colds in the past when a series final clashed with some social events I should have been at !
For years I refused most things on Saturday because of Strictly - or got there late as it was on so early.

Brighton have really pushed the boat out with posters ... Lovely place for Georgia to spend the week especially if the weather is good.
Hope she shops in the Lanes and gets to try the fantastic restaurants too.
There used to be an amazing Chocolate Shop that made fab cakes etc - Is it still there Humpty ?

Anyway.. back on topic..

Seems Gio has another Halloween Tango to choreograph. Wonder if it will be as great as last year's? (GG's tango was amazing) I wouldn't have thought so what with Laura's bad ankle but from the clip on ITT it didn't seem to be bothering her - think the papers may have exaggerated her injury as I read she couldn't even stand nor put any weight on it a couple of days ago - so maybe better than I expect.

Fatskia on the L&G App thread said that Tango with heel leads is best dance option given Laura's injury over other dances requiring toe leads.”

Thanks Lady L!!
LOVE that song!!!

I'm more than willing to take Fatskia's word on that as my knowledge of the te hnicalities of dance would comfortably fit on the had of a ver small pin!!

You know, rather than leading Georgia quite so far up the garden path in terms of the whole marriage business (i.e. her giving interviews days before the split describing herself as 'the one') and also perhaps kinder if he didn't kind of get her to structure their whole life round the relationship with him (moving away from her family to London to move in with him, learning Italian, cooking and entertaining for the Strictly people whom he was particularly friendly with) and then kind of completely demolish that structure six months later. It would've also certainly been rather kinder, I think, if he'd decided to give her the old heave-ho a little earlier than 3 weeks before her first ever appearance in theatre, a time at which she clearly needs as much calmness and support
as is possible, instead she was heartbroken, in shock, and unable to sleep - not really ideal preparation.”

Indeed Brian!!
It would be really interesting to know at what stage he realised she wasn't actually his 'The One' & what brought about the change of attitude!!

Sorry I've had no time to post due to kids! (and work later) but I felt I should pop in to say I had a fab time last night just in case anyone was doubting

Matt gave a polished and impressive performance as Fred and Charlie was adorable and
impressed me even MORE Great chemistry with the leading lady!

As for Georgia herself....she truly lit up the stage - and owned it too! Alongside Matt, its such a central and dominant role in the play, that you really have to own it for the play to work. Its such a great experience for her debut, that she not only coped well with, but did such a good job of it too. Great acting and charisma on stage and her singing voice is amazing. Really! I don't just mean she did a great job for someone who's not a singer, I mean shes really good! It has a lovely warm tone to it, similar to some country singers, beautiful to listen to. My daughter was very impressed and curious as to why we've never heard it before.

She did as brilliantly with the Marilyn-style lightheared and comedy moments and she did with the sad and emotional ones. Sorry I don't have time to go on, but you can all be
assured she did a fabulous job! Such a talented lady and so beautiful too - theres not that many that can look THAT good without any make-up on! The fact she has such a kind, bubbly and down-to-earth charm as well makes her just adorable and it doesn't surprise me that shes liked as much as she is by everyone who works with her. Hope she never changes as with all these attributes shes bound to do brilliantly well in life if she carries on as she is. (Bearing this in mind, I'd say shes way beyond even being compared to any other 'likes' that have no value to her ) She should be sensible enough to know her worth, as there will be plenty out there who know it too and are bound to value it and appreciate it as she deserves!

Wish you could all have had a chance to go, as I know you'd all be impressed too

Nina hope you have a great time too - in The Lanes as well as at the show!”

Thanks so much for that Ruby!!
Such a brilliant theatre debut for Georgia!! We all knew she would be fab & she hasn't let us down, bless her!!

Nina, have a great time tonight!!

He may have to leave out that dizzying series of spins covering the whole dancefloor that he did with Georgia last year but hope Laura is ok to do a full routine!!
