Well Jammy - its two months today Georgia & Giovanni broke up, with no sign whatsoever of amends from Giovanni (that we know of anyway)!.... Wills & Kate split for two months before getting back together and now .... married and two children later have come out very much on top! So as time goes on I really see no comeback for these two if this goes on much longer!! I hope no regrets from either if stubborness is involved!?! Best say no more! sob, sob!!!! etc. etc...

Sadly Patti, I think the likelihood of them getting back together is pretty non-existent. They've both moved on. Here's hoping one day they will be friends again.

Thanks Star!!
Michelle always seems a sweet girl & she is pretty but she doesn't quite do it for me the same as Georgia does!! (And I still always preferred Samia before Georgia showed up on Corrie!! )

Manchester (or the Manchester area) does seem to be a happy hunting ground for beautiful young women with sweet & lovely personalities!!

Hi everyone, I'm back from my excursion to Brighton

I've been off the thread since yesterday after I was unwise enough to reply to our unwanted guest and on getting a rather snappy reply I decided to flounce off in a paddy since I really couldn't be bothered to argue any more. Anyway I apologise for not just ignoring the provocation. Haven't read the read the last few pages so I don't know if I stirred anything up. Edit I have read them now and I just want to say that although I'm not particularly interested in Gio and Laura's partnership, I still appreciate Gio as a dancer and a gorgeous bloke. I've paid quite a bit of money to see him dance in the past and may do so again in future. It's sad that he and Georgia have split up but these things happen and one can only hope that they are both happy in their new lives.

Anyway, moving on, you'll be pleased to know I really enjoyed BatT. It was a rather dead audience but they applauded enthusiastically at the end and I heard some appreciative comments on the way out so I think people must have enjoyed it on the whole.

Leaving aside Georgia's performance for the moment I actually enjoyed the play itself more than I thought I would. It's a fairly insubstantial play since it's based on an insubstantial book but I found it very entertaining and it had me well engrossed up to the end. I thought Matt Barber gave an excellent performance that kind of glued the whole piece together. He had great chemistry with Georgia and I loved the hug they gave each other at the end. There were also good performances from the rest of the cast particularly the one whose name I've forgotten who played the barman. Charlie De Melo was lovely, of course and the cat was gorgeous especially the moment at the end when he walks across the stage. I wondered if there is always someone at the other side of the stage waving a plate of Whiskas!

As for Georgia she is certainly very different from the film version of Holly. At the interval I heard someone behind me saying "Audrey Hepburn never behaved like that!" With regard to her performance I can only agree with what Humpty said that she really lit up the stage when she came on looking universally fabulous in all her various costume changes. What struck me was how slim and tiny (and very beautiful) she is. For a first stage role and one that involved such copious amounts of dialogue I thought she coped admirably and never lost her accent. As Humpty she dealt as well with the comedy as with with the more emotional moments in the second half which were very touching. Her singing was lovely especially the little country number that she did. Would love to hear her sing some more.

I think Georgia will have enjoyed her week in Brighton. It's a lovely old theatre and a more intimate venue than, say the theatre at Milton Keynes. Also, Brighton itself is very pleasant to wander around and she is lucky enough to have had a nice sunny week. Today it was gorgeous down there.

I like Kevin too - in fact I may vote for him this year if only to annoy the haters. I really liked him in the Strictly Proms and I was delighted (as was he) that he was so well received by the audience who were obviously not DS readers! I can't understand the hate either - he's a great dancer and teacher, endof. It doesn't matter what his surname is!

Well I must say, this is my favourite of George's pictures. I wonder if he might make it down to Brighton on Saturday? I have to say though that Georgia has also been liking pics of other fit men. I think she's recently liked a couple of Brad Howard's pics. So, whatever she has with George I think it's fairly casual at the moment which I am sure is a good thing (for Georgia anyway). Don't get me wrong, I thought Claudia did very well to retain as much technique as she did given the speed of it. But I think what it does highlight is how fantastically well Georgia did in her Samba (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RJA6_iVSj0o) to maintain nearly all
the technique throughout given the speed - granted there was a hand incident in the middle, and a slight loss of balance, but with the amount of stuff she had to do in there, and at such a fast speed, it really does show what an amazing dancer she is, she made lots of extremely difficult technique look very easy indeed. I remember Bruno commenting after the dance that it was "a level of technique I'd never seen before'.”

That Samba was just amazing!!
I think the bit that really got me was hust the way she goes syraight into it from a standing start after the seemingly long intro, breathtaking, and I too sympathised with Claudia not quite getting the technique because of the speed, though Lady L's post about the speed being even faster than Georgia's is interesting!! Obviously a bit too ambitious from AJ there, trying too hard to impress in his first year!!

Absolutely they were & despite some people's assertions on other threads that Jay won easily last year because the competition was so much less fierce than this year, I think Georgia would stand up just as well among this year's batch, especially the females! I haven't seen a female who's a patch on her this year so far, though I guess it's still early days yet!!

Add me to the list of Clifton fans, both Kevin and obviously Jo!!

Think Kevin's deserved all his three finals so far & I had no problems with him & Kellie last year tbh!! He choreograohed routines to suit her personality & I will always have a soft spot for her for being Georgia's 'dance Mum' & always being so lovely with her & ready with a cuddle etc when she needed it!!
Don't know about anyone else but I'm not getting quite the sense of 'big happy family' with this year's celebs that I did last year yet!! I honestly think much of that was probably down to Georgia being friends with everyone & bringing the group closer together!!

Thanks for a great review Nina & nice to hear positive comments about Georgia's perforance again!!
BaT certainly seems to have given her a new 'string to her bow' ie she knows now that
she can do theatre work well and also that with such a great singing voice she could also do musicals!!
What a bright & exciting future lies ahead for our lovely girl!!

I remember that Georgia, bless her, apologised to Giovanni at the end of that routine and she was very frustrated when recapping the dance in her pre Charleston VT the following week she was extremely frustrated! As you say, no doubt about it, without that mistake we would've seen 10s (probably three of 'em!) - but extremely, extremely impressive! Genuinely about a 100X better than any other Samba I've seen on Strictly.

Re Claudia- I do agree Brian , I think if they reach the final and do the samba again I think it could be amazing!!

I'm still upset GG didn't get to do their samba on the final - though I wouldn't actually change anything they did! We got to see that amazing Rumba, and that amazing Charleston - I certainly wouldn't change the fact she got those brilliant comments and heir first 40!! And that beautiful show dance! Still can't believe they didn't get at least 1 ten for that! Should have got 10's for all 3 of their dances though ”

And Claudia is tiny so tricky for her to cover enough floor at that pace. AJ could have asked for their song to be arranged a little bit slower to give Claudia a fair chance. I felt for her.

So they either fix it, cover it with costume or use a lot of dry ice. Len is going to notice as it stands.”

I do wish we'd got to see that Samba again, I remember in the week before I was angling for her to get the first 40 for a Samba on Strictly - I had every faith they would! But, we got THAT Rumba, so I ain't complaining (well I am, but I would've quite happily watched her do all the dances again in the final!)

Oh and the showdance, the judges were so pathetically pernickety with it. So she walks around for about a quarter of the dance in a blindfold, creates the most amazing and beautiful shapes with her body all with the blindfold on, and then does a blindfolded backwards handstand ... and then what do the judges say "eww your shoulder was a bit raised" - seriously?! 40 for me - no doubt about it.

And specifically with regards to Claudia and AJ - I do praise the ambition of AJ in attempting to choreograph such a fast routine. Admittedly it was slightly too much for her at this stage, but, as you say Claire, I would love to see it again in the final!

Can I join the liking Kevin club?!

As you say he's clearly an extremely good teacher - people complain about how he's 'unfairly' got to three finals, do people not think occasionally that it might have something to do with his teaching!

In fairness, I haven't been in a situation with an actual celebrity, but I've been in a situations in which I've tried to plan out something I'm going to say to someone, been a bit nervous about it, and all of what I was going to say goes out the window when I actually try and say it!

I'm really not altogether sure why they insist on having the props. My guess is that for people like Ed and Robert, the producers pin them down as the kind of entertainment characters in the show - hence all the props. Also perhaps for people like Ed who aren't necessarily blessed with bags of dancing ability the props and strong themes can distract from the dance somewhat.
But, in a broader sense, I think you could well have a point in saying that they want to appeal to a younger audience. Certainly in more recent years they've wanted to definitely appear as a full on entertainment show (rather than just focusing on the dancing) and I guess the use of props and things is all part of that.

Thanks for that report nina - whoever was responsible for the PR and marketing of BAT may well have got initial ticket sales by using the Audrey Hepburn images to sell it but they did the actresses no favours at all.
I can't help feeling the posters etc should have emphasised that this was Holly as Truman saw her and not Hollywood.
Photographing them all blonde would have been a good start,

I thought there must have been someone at the side of the stage enticing the cat
The only cats I have known well in real life have never done a thing you asked them to, so how they have trained this one so well is a miracle.

I had no idea who Brad Howard was and had to google him - not my cup of tea I must say.
Presumably Georgia knows him from Manchester.

Hello peeps,
Just arrived back from a rather lovely sneaky ride down to Brighton fulfilling the intention of
seeing Georgia perform at the Grand Palace Theatre.
I was thrilled indeed to hear about Star and Lozzer’s fantastic adventure and read humpty’s review which inspired me even more to make sure I got to see it and so today did just that.
While Georgia was sending sos messages out for more coffee, I was arriving at the station and walking down the fantastic Queen’s Road in the sunshine, and the sea in the distance was glittering brilliantly adding to the anticipation. As you walk down the road the Tiffany/Georgia banners are hung on many of the lampposts. What a thing for her to see, her picture all over town, and not just this one but everywhere the tour is visiting. Really thrilling I would think. So I was on the way to the matinee!

The Grand Palace theatre is a traditional long established theatre with a lovely atmosphere and from where I was sitting in the stalls, chock a block full. Could not see the upper tiers but a lady near me commented how for a tour matinee this was very good indeed.

And from the moment the performance began, when Georgia walks down centre stage in ‘that’ black dress, ‘the’ hat and and jewels, I was captivated. Georgia hardly leaves the stage it seems, and each time she did, she came back in a different costume…I think perhaps that helped the pace of the play and gave the feeling of ‘time passing’ as much as anything.

Georgia has a LOT of dialogue and she maintained her accent all the way through.. could understand and hear every word and it felt very natural and easy… a real achievement given her own accent leaves us no doubt about her origins (he he). The banter she has with ‘Fred’, Matt Barber, from very early on is fast and they clearly have a very slick and wonderful connection and chemistry on stage. This grew as the performance went on and was very powerful towards the end of the second half during some of the darker moments of the story.

There are some fantastic moments involving the other members of the cast… the barman, Joe Bell is brilliant, Doc has a short part but very powerful, Charlie de Melo was excellent in the role of Jose and Yunioshi and the other members of the cast were very entertaining indeed.

And then there was ‘Cat’! Bob did his part brilliantly, a very big, fluffy white and compliant cat, and very apt.

What an entertaining afternoon; seeing Georgia expanding her repertoire and experience on the live theatre stage was an enchanting experience, when she is on stage it is very hard to take your eyes off her, she commands people’s attention and has embraced the role of Holly as her own..
She moved me to tears in the second half, suddenly I found I was welling up because of Holly, her fragility, her hope for something better which was never going to happen. Georgia was Holly, tears in her eyes, being comforted by Fred, a proper friend if she ever could accept him as such.

I was so pleased to see her performance and thought I might catch her afterwards to say thanks…
But now I know that she was busy hugging Henry and attending a baby shower which explains why all the other actors appeared at the stage door soon after the performance and she was nowhere to be seen. So left a little note etc for her.

Georgia, if you're reading this, thanks for a wonderful afternoon! What a fantastic role and supporting cast to start you on your stage career. More of this please.. XXX

As I’ve mentioned previously a while ago this thread is a special place, and for me as one of many who finds it hard to contribute on a regular basis, but none the less am in awe of everyone who keeps this flying high and do appreciate so many of the good and fun things that happen here.
Its a pity when some dark voices take the stage. No place for them here.

Hope as many people as possible get to see BAT, it gives great pleasure to so many people and has been such an amazing piece of work for Georgia after her Strictly journey. Im really pleased I got to see it. As Geo would say, it was a real privilege to experience it.

And as I’m finishing this report, she has just done the whole thing all over again this evening! Well done!! A girl certainly can achieve great things if she has coffee and a bit of chocolate to keep going

Love to everyone on this thread. XXX

Georgia posted a snapchat from her dressing room when she was getting ready for the evening performance yesterday. Her original make up artist on BAT Karleigh Williams has returned and Georgia had another girl helping with the preparations as well. So a lively dressing room. Alicia💄👒👗🎼x

What a fabulous report, thanks for posting!

I think I may have kind of half met you yesterday, if you were the lady who had to leave to get her train?!!!! Such a shame I didn't realise you were from here or we could have chatted!! I was busy entertaining my little one with the card display nextdoor so she didn't get bored! Nice to have 'seen you' anyway (if it was you that is! ) And such a shame you missed her!

Star is a very persuasive little lady She gave me grief for not going to see Georgia after the show, and suggested that I should pop in after one of of her other shows seeing as I live nearby (I'm only 10 mins drive from the theatre). Well I was in town yesterday with my little one (who loves Georgia too btw!) and decided to do just that. Unfortunately she didn't come out right away and I left too. I messaged Star to let her know I had at least tried....not long after she messaged me back telling me Georgia was at the door waiting! So we dashed back (hadn't got far luckily!) and there she was.

As you might guess, she was as friendly as we have seen her with others. She saw us from a distance coming and saw my daughter running to her so she knelt down to be at her level waiting for her to come. She ran excitedly over but once we actually got there, she got a bit shy! Georgia was so good with her, she stayed down at her level - she had been drinking a slush puppy so her lips were blue, so Georgia was asking if she could try and guess what she'd been eating. She knows the tricks of the trade to make the kiddies feel comfortable! They had a chat, then she stood up and we had a lovely chat too. She is far too friendly - talks to you like you're her mate shes known for years! Couldn't be more down to earth! A really lovely girl. And yes, she is beautiful, but you all knew that anyway

So a big thank to you Star - I really would never have thought of going had you not suggested it, and I would never have seen her had you not messaged her either x

And such a shame I didn't know who you were siriol !!!! (thats of course if you are the person I think you are - maybe not!) as I would have loved to chat! So sorry you missed her, but glad you loved the show!

After the evening performance some of the cast and crew went out in Brighton. The snapchat images of them having fun are lovely. Great fun, some downing of Sol, Georgia really looks relaxed and having a great time. She fits right in! If you don't have snapchat please try looking on karleightwilliams Instagram for a still of Georgia and Karleigh which may be good to see. Alicia🍺Cheers!
