What a fabulous report, thanks for posting!
I think I may have kind of half met you yesterday, if you were the lady who had to leave to get her train?!!!! Such a shame I didn't realise you were from here or we could have chatted!! I was busy entertaining my little one with the card display nextdoor so she didn't get bored! Nice to have 'seen you' anyway (if it was you that is! ) And such a shame you missed her! Star is a very persuasive little lady She gave me grief for not going to see Georgia after the show, and suggested that I should pop in after one of of her other shows seeing as I live nearby (I'm only 10 mins drive from the theatre). Well I was in town yesterday with my little one (who loves Georgia too btw!) and decided to do just that. Unfortunately she didn't come out right away and I left too. I messaged Star to let her know I had at least tried....not long after she messaged me back telling me Georgia was at the door waiting! So we dashed back (hadn't got far luckily!) and there she was.As you might guess, she was as friendly as we have seen her with others. She saw us from a distance coming and saw my daughter running to her so she knelt down to be at her level waiting for her to come. She ran excitedly over but once we actually got there, she got a bit shy! Georgia was so good with her, she stayed down at her level - she had been drinking a slush puppy so her lips were blue, so Georgia was asking if she could try and guess what she'd been eating. She knows the tricks of the trade to make the kiddies feel comfortable! They had a chat, then she stood up and we had a lovely chat too. She is far too friendly - talks to you like you're her mate shes known for years! Couldn't be more down to earth! A really lovely girl. And yes, she is beautiful, but you all knew that anyway ![]() So a big thank to you Star - I really would never have thought of going had you not suggested it, and I would never have seen her had you not messaged her either x And such a shame I didn't know who you were siriol !!!! (thats of course if you are the person I think you are - maybe not!) as I would have loved to chat! So sorry you missed her, but glad you loved the show! |

Hello peeps,
Just arrived back from a rather lovely sneaky ride down to Brighton fulfilling the intention of seeing Georgia perform at the Grand Palace Theatre. I was thrilled indeed to hear about Star and Lozzer’s fantastic adventure and read humpty’s review which inspired me even more to make sure I got to see it and so today did just that. While Georgia was sending sos messages out for more coffee, I was arriving at the station and walking down the fantastic Queen’s Road in the sunshine, and the sea in the distance was glittering brilliantly adding to the anticipation. As you walk down the road the Tiffany/Georgia banners are hung on many of the lampposts. What a thing for her to see, her picture all over town, and not just this one but everywhere the tour is visiting. Really thrilling I would think. So I was on the way to the matinee! The Grand Palace theatre is a traditional long established theatre with a lovely atmosphere and from where I was sitting in the stalls, chock a block full. Could not see the upper tiers but a lady near me commented how for a tour matinee this was very good indeed. And from the moment the performance began, when Georgia walks down centre stage in ‘that’ black dress, ‘the’ hat and and jewels, I was captivated. Georgia hardly leaves the stage it seems, and each time she did, she came back in a different costume…I think perhaps that helped the pace of the play and gave the feeling of ‘time passing’ as much as anything. Georgia has a LOT of dialogue and she maintained her accent all the way through.. could understand and hear every word and it felt very natural and easy… a real achievement given her own accent leaves us no doubt about her origins (he he). The banter she has with ‘Fred’, Matt Barber, from very early on is fast and they clearly have a very slick and wonderful connection and chemistry on stage. This grew as the performance went on and was very powerful towards the end of the second half during some of the darker moments of the story. There are some fantastic moments involving the other members of the cast… the barman, Joe Bell is brilliant, Doc has a short part but very powerful, Charlie de Melo was excellent in the role of Jose and Yunioshi and the other members of the cast were very entertaining indeed. And then there was ‘Cat’! Bob did his part brilliantly, a very big, fluffy white and compliant cat, and very apt. What an entertaining afternoon; seeing Georgia expanding her repertoire and experience on the live theatre stage was an enchanting experience, when she is on stage it is very hard to take your eyes off her, she commands people’s attention and has embraced the role of Holly as her own.. She moved me to tears in the second half, suddenly I found I was welling up because of Holly, her fragility, her hope for something better which was never going to happen. Georgia was Holly, tears in her eyes, being comforted by Fred, a proper friend if she ever could accept him as such. I was so pleased to see her performance and thought I might catch her afterwards to say thanks… But now I know that she was busy hugging Henry and attending a baby shower which explains why all the other actors appeared at the stage door soon after the performance and she was nowhere to be seen. So left a little note etc for her. Georgia, if you're reading this, thanks for a wonderful afternoon! What a fantastic role and supporting cast to start you on your stage career. More of this please.. XXX As I’ve mentioned previously a while ago this thread is a special place, and for me as one of many who finds it hard to contribute on a regular basis, but none the less am in awe of everyone who keeps this flying high and do appreciate so many of the good and fun things that happen here. Its a pity when some dark voices take the stage. No place for them here. Hope as many people as possible get to see BAT, it gives great pleasure to so many people and has been such an amazing piece of work for Georgia after her Strictly journey. Im really pleased I got to see it. As Geo would say, it was a real privilege to experience it. And as I’m finishing this report, she has just done the whole thing all over again this evening! Well done!! A girl certainly can achieve great things if she has coffee and a bit of chocolate to keep going ![]() Love to everyone on this thread. XXX So lovely to hear from you!And thank you so much, such a wonderful report and just an absolute joy to read - really wonderful. I'm so pleased to that you enjoyed the show so much, and there seems to be a common theme developing from all the reviews I'm reading on here and that's just how much Georgia commands the stage, how much she makes it her own. It just sounds like the most fantastic production to watch and that really the whole cast gels together just perfectly! But it really does sound like Georgia makes the most fantastic Holly! Once again, thank you very much for your wonderful report Siriol - such a pleasure to read. ![]() Quote:

Now, I don't like to bother Georgia on social media (bit worried she'll unfollow me if I bug her lol) but I couldn't bare the thought of Humpty's little one being disappointed so I sent Georgia a quick DM - thinking it could either help and if not it wouldn't do any harm. By this point Humpty had already headed off but Georgia replied (apologising! Bless her) that she was at a cast baby shower but heading straight out now. So I quickly DM'ed Humpty back telling her to get back to the stage door - I then had a mini panic attack as Humpty didn't reply so I thought it was too late and she'd already gotten on her bus (that's when you really wish you had people's phone numbers!) - anyway, thankfully, Humpty DM'ed me back a few minutes later to say thank you, and that she and her daughter, had just met Georgia. Hello Humpty,
Yes I certainly am the person you think I am ![]() ![]() What a chat we would have had, had we known ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Im so glad you caught up with Georgia and had such a lovely time with her, and especially with your daughter there too! Makes what she sees on TV real. Brilliant that Star tracked Geo down... and that you were able to get back. Wonderful! I think it is fascinating that people have such differing views about BAT. I suspect it partly about expectations of the experience before hand... what buy in one has into supporting Georgia as someone who has only done TV for around 15-16 years and expanding her career as a result of the opportunity that Strictly has afforded her, whether one has Audrey Hepburn in focus ... and BAT has clearly very little to do with the film, etc. Its a large bag of expectation that Georgia carries with her in this role I'm thinking. We are lucky here because we have had much chat about all of these things and maybe that is why we enjoy the performances so much, never mind what people have said about the actual play etc. We have Georgia in the frame and following on from all that has happened to her this year, including learning to play the guitar, learning a completely new way of expressing her craft in live theatre etc never mind true life, she is succeeding so well. Im still thinking about it today and staying in the mood for a little while longer ![]() Reality will strike soon I suspect........... |

And to reiterate Star's comment, yes Georgia, it's little moments & gestures like this that have kept us, and will keep us loving you & supporting you in everything you do!!

XXX |

Star - you are a STAR to have made dreams come true and so lovely that you knew you could DM Georgia and how she left her baby shower to come outside and get down to that little girl's level and Humpty's day made too! Such lovely stories from everyone, thanks!!
She so misses Strictly and am delighted about how many people have tweeted/favourited/RTd but we do know already that the BBC know what a fighter and how popular and down-to-earth Georgia is. Her Mum, Dad, Sis and Foote family must be so very very proud of their lovely Georgia!! |

Absolutely made up that you and your daughter managed to meet her
![]() Just so everyone realises just how wonderful Georgia is, my side of last nights little story; As Humpty says she DM'ed me on Twitter, to ask if Georgia came out after every show as she hadn't (yesterday afternoon) and I replied that I thought she did. Quick check of snapchat showed that she was at a cast party. Anyway Humpty said she'd have to go as she had her daughter with her and had been waiting a while. Just another (in a very long line of) story of just how lovely Georgia is. Not only did she spend time answering my DM's, she left her cast party to rush outside to meet Humpty and her little one! No need to thank me, Humpty, all I did was send a message. All credit must go to that absolutely delightful girl, who's worth her weight in gold! That, Georgia, is exactly why we all love you 😘 And it really was quite a story by all accounts - sad beginning with Humpty thinking she wasn't going to see her, the climax of Georgia coming out and Humpty about to get on the bus, and then the extremely happy ending of Georgia coming out to meet them both! As you say, Star, just when you think a person can't get any more lovelier - they do! And to think that Georgia actually apologised for not being there at the start, bless her. Naturally all celebs should probably show a degree of appreciation for their fans, but Georgia does this like x100,000,000!! Just wonderful!Quote:
Hello Humpty,
Yes I certainly am the person you think I am ![]() ![]() What a chat we would have had, had we known ![]() ![]() Im so glad you caught up with Georgia and had such a lovely time with her, and especially with your daughter there too! Absolutely Siriol - she really is succeeding so well! I remember reading a review a while back in which the main criticism of the show seemed to be that she wasn't like Audrey - what can you say for critics who are so ill prepared that they actually come expecting to see a completely different show that is based on the film rather than the book. Certainly the impression I've got is that she's very much put her own spin on it, she's made the character her own - I think that's the mark of a truly brilliant performer. You know, it's similar to what we saw in Strictly - for almost every dance she would adopt a different persona - I think Bruno commented on it specifically in the final of how versatile she was as a performer. The sultry, sexy lady in the Rumba, to the passionate, enthralling, almost mysterious lady of the showdance, and then to the most wonderful, joyful character in the Charleston! Quote:
I agree with you both! I want Georgia to do either a Strictly special, All-Stars or international version! Strictly is a lot less sparkly without her in it. I miss Jay as well. The gang of 2015 were such a lovely group and all so supportive of eachother. As she would need a different partner can I nominate the gorgeous Gorka or the lovely Pasha for her

I quite agree Jammy - a Strictly all stars or a Christmas special would be good, but you know, the other celeb dancers would be a bit of an unnecessary distraction, can we not just have Georgia doing her own Strictly show?!
![]() I think it could be a viewing success. We would all definitely love it! ![]() ![]()

Brian, I like your thinking! How about a new entertainment show 'West End Style with Georgia May Foote'? She could either sing/dance/both all the iconic West End numbers from Chicago/West Side Story/Grease/Oliver/Saturday Night Fever/Mama Mia/Evita/Les Mis/Blood Brothers etc...with special guests joining her
I think it could be a viewing success. We would all definitely love it! ![]() ![]() ![]() This means that we'd not only get to see her dance and perform, but sing, dance and perform (and I've been absolutely desperate to hear her singing) - a fantastic idea Jammy! Seriously, what a great idea that would be!! |

) And such a shame you missed her!
She gave me grief for not going to see Georgia after the show, and suggested that I should pop in after one of of her other shows seeing as I live nearby (I'm only 10 mins drive from the theatre). Well I was in town yesterday with my little one (who loves Georgia too btw!) and decided to do just that. Unfortunately she didn't come out right away and I left too. I messaged Star to let her know I had at least tried....not long after she messaged me back telling me Georgia was at the door waiting! So we dashed back (hadn't got far luckily!) and there she was.
) and I bet it's something your little one will remember forever!!
